Heard this tonight. I am not a stats guy but could this be right? Pretty cool stat if correct. What'cha think?

I feel like he said first win against a ranked SEC team on the road. I will listen again and see.

That’s it. And I think he said since 2009(?).

To me it’s one of those fairly meaningless statistics. ND just doesn’t play that many ranked SEC teams on the road.
Georgia? Any other team other than a playoff game?

I like Beaux Collin’s. Glad he didn’t get called for the shove. He has a lot of attitude, good to see that.

Regardless how A&M year plays out, that was a tough win in a very loud, hostile environment for visiting teams.  And make no mistake that is an elite SEC DL that our green OL played against.  Sure we made mistakes and looked pretty awful at times, but there were also a number of good takes for the OL too.  This will be a huge confidence booster for the OL going forward, and they will get better and gel together after facing this baptism by fire.

I liked the fact that by kicking the last FG, not only did it clinch the game, it gave the Irish a double digit win on the road vs. a ranked SEC team which will help come CFP rankings.

Agree with all of the above!

Reffing was suspect I thought.  I'm glad that they missed that bad move by Collins.

I was there with my son.  It was hot and loud.  The atmosphere was electric and ND stepped up big.

I think it is correct that last night was ND’s 1st road win against an SEC team since Tennessee in 2009. I also think it is correct that ND has only played 2 SEC road games since 2009 - last night and Georgia in what was that 2018?  So 2-1 on road games against SEC teams going back to 2009.

Yes, this. It's sort of a deceiving stat. If we played the University of Chicago today and won, the writers could say "This is the first time since 1899 that ND has beaten Chicago." What they don't say is that we haven't played each other since 1899 because that makes the headline lost its pop. People love to hate on ND with the states like "haven't beaten ______ since." or "haven't won ______ since." Time to rewrite history and take this click bait away from them.

Obviously not a top-tier SEC team, but about as tough an environment that any team could play in. O line played better than expected. Loved the pulling guards and tight ends on some of those runs too. We'll only get better.

For the record, pretty sure that ND has never beaten the University of Chicago...
