Have not been released yet.  In years past, the first CFP rankings have generally been released at the conclusion of week 9.  No formal information released yet.  Will update accordingly.

I have no issues with where ND is ranked. I would have been content with anything from the 7-10 range honestly. I still think Penn State is overrated, I am not super familiar with their roster to be frank, but they have done nothing over the last ~5 years to show me that they are a top 10 team. They were simply the 3rd best team in the B1G, which was not hard to do.

Agreed with everything you said here!

Notre Dame pretty much right where they should be, and Penn State is super overrated!

The last time Penn State was any good was when Barkley was there. But as you said, the last 3-5 seasons they have all the hype, but fall flat on their faces as soon as the pressure gets high. Hilarious!

Not picking on you or supporting Penn St by any means but curious why what Penn St (or any other team) did over the last ~5 years should have anything to do with their 2024 ranking?

I was not aware that the rankings should reflect seasons past especially 4 or 5 seasons ago.

Preseason rankings are mostly about what you have done recently and expectations for the season. How do we determine our expectations preseason? By stuff that they have done in the past.

I would agree with you in a general sense of rankings DURING the season, but not for preseason rankings.

 

AP poll added, ND opens at #7 there too.
