great question. First name that came to mind was John Carney. I need to do some research.

Harry Oliver kicks game winner vs UM

I lived next door to Harry Oliver the year he kicked this game-winner.  Nice guy, very quiet.  He wasn't ND's greatest kicker ever, but that kick was one for the ages.

boats GIFBoats and Hoes!

In other news, no votes for Jim Sanson…?

Craig Hentrich

I believe Hentrich is Notre Dame's all-time punting leader at 44.1 yards per punt.

He did both.  He was pretty great.  He punted in the NFL, but I remember his kicking in school

My vote is Craig Hentrich

Yoon was a beast. I think he is the last time I felt like kicks were automatic. Maybe we have been spoiled by a lot of good talent over the years but the last few have felt rough.

Man, for real! When Yoon went to kick, I was never worried. Doerer was pretty good his final season as the starter, but at times had me worried. Grupe was solid, but couldn’t hit the long ones. And don’t even get me started on Shrader! It would make my wife and I so mad when he’d be up to kick a long field goal, and Collinsworth say, he’s got the leg, but have Schrader miss it wide left or right!! We would always yell, it doesn't matter how big of a leg you have if you can’t be accurate! 😡 Here’s to hoping Jeter is more like Yoon! 🤞🏼
