I so love this, and have been waiting a very long time to see this matchup!

My wife and I are both BSU alums. We lived in Boise, ID while I was stationed there locally.

The only time we ever cheer for BSU is if they play an ND rival. 😜 We were at the 2019 BSU vs FSU game since I was stationed close to Tallahassee, FL at the time. We had our BSU gear on, along with an ND hat, because 🤬 FSU! It worked out, because BSU did win that game, and in dramatic fashion.

However, for this game, we’ll be cheering hard against BSU!

My wife and I have been fans of Notre Dame well before we graduated from BSU, so we know where our loyalties lie! 😝

I am ok with this. Boise State is a respectable program, not sure how good they will be, but they have been a solid team for awhile now.

With this game ND now has 11 games scheduled for 2025.   Currently there are two open weeks between the USC and the Navy games, so that's where the 12th game would go.

It's a pretty good schedule.  Headliners of Texas A&M and USC, but other good games including Miami, Boise State, and NC State.  As it looks right now, ND has a pretty realistic chance of running the regular season table in 2025.

And, on a side note, there are no more games scheduled against USC after 2026.

Love all of this, except for the part about USC. What a bummer!

If the powers that be from who knows where, decides to toss out the greatest intersectional rivalry then that my be my signal to move on from CFB for good.  I've been hanging by a few threads for awhile  but that would be the final straw.  No game has had such NC and Heisman implications, and winners.

I hope that this is just a result of the ever changing landscape and that the two schools stand united in their commitment to this incredibly storied rivalry, while everything in the CFB is still in flux.

Agreed, and I’m really hoping they keep it going forever. Because as you said, it’s the greatest intersectional rivalry and always seems to have huge implications.

It really would be a huge disservice to not just Notre Dame and USC, but to CFB as a whole!

The ND-USC game is not going anywhere. They likely just don't have dates due to USC's move to the Big Ten, and needing to figure out future Big Ten conference schedules to see when USC has open dates. But it will continue to be played every year.
