Feel Like I have not done a total nerdy deep Dive this summer yet

I'm going to first compare the  extremes and then do an average.

Jayden Daniels had a huge role in the LSU running game last year

So Jayden Daniels averaged l 11-12 carries a Game and Sam Hartman Averaged 3-4.

Diggs averaged 12 per carries game while Estime had 18 a game

LSU averaged 33-34 rushes a game

ND averaged 35 or 36

I assume with Denbrock the Amount of QB Rushes will go up. How much would you expect them to go up by?

I'm Thinking think just simple averages if Daniels had 12 ish and Hartman Had 4ish ND QB 1 in   2024  could have 8 ish.

Depends on how healthy Riley's ankle is...

Looks like Leonard averaged 10 carries per game last year, but I'd bet Denbrock has a plan for both Leonard, and whoever is the backup, that 1) tries to keep Leonard healthy, and 2) allows ND to run the same offense regardless of who's under center.

If he has more than 5 designed run plays per game, I'd be surprised, although I'm betting he'll have some rollouts with a green light to run, so...8.5 CPG??!  That's my O/U.

Great topic, Faith! Thanks bud. I definitely think we will see way more run if we have Riley in there. Excited for summer camp to see where his ankle is at and what his speed looks like after the injury.

A lot also depends on if the Irish can get ahead of the chains on first and second down (and lead most games). If so, then they should run more which should add 1-2 QB carries a game.

The last time you did a running QB deep dive, you graded Buchner as like a 91 overall with All American potential as a difference making dual threat.

And now he doesn't even play the sport of football any more collegiately.

Lets just state the obvious; your Deep Dives are about as accurate as a covid test.

Ha ha ha.  And also like a Covid test, it's really just a suggestion anyway.  Doesn't really change much.  Maybe a work from home day or two.

But man, the off-season is tough on everyone's predictions, though.  Accuracy be damned, the best thing about this ND QB off-season is that we have 4 viable guys that look like they can play the game!  And the more Riley runs, the more likely we are to find out.

But we're sitting better than we have in years, either way.

@NDLincPark Riley had 13 rushes so its actually right in line with Daniels. He won't be as productive as Daniels think Riley averaged 5.3 YPC but he had  some meaningful runs
