Rockne3d
Benn is upset because he was denied as an EE. Nothing more at this point.

dangeruss
this totally stinks, benn would've been a great player at ND....boy does this sting. so broke were does ND go from here? if ND could land little and barnes that would go a long way but is that to much to ask right now? Guest shark83
Benn is upset because he was denied as an EE. Nothing more at this point. Pretty sickening to think the top WR in the nation won't come to ND because he "can't early enroll". I'm gonna go throw up.
Guest IndyIrish
I have no idea how this EE works. Is he lacking a few courses?? Obviously grades aren't an issue.....Is there any way he can do something to become an EE or is it too late at this point??
Rockne3d
Clarification: this does not mean that we are out for Benn.
Guest JerseyDomer
Clarification: this does not mean that we are out for Benn. Thanks Broke. makes sense too We have to many pros and that's only 1 con so far. Benn should still be Irish
SpecialFNK
when he was denied EE that could have upset him and he just made a snap decison like well fine then ND your out ..but maybe once he takes the time he can realize its not the end of the word for him, he just simply has to wait and he can again get back on board with ND? Guest IndyIrish
I think you gotta hope that his announcement doesn't come too soon....probably the longer the wait, the better it is for us. I bet Weis and Ianello are in his ear big time this week.
FROSH
with all the other "advantages" of going to other universities i still had hope that benn would be irish, however it looks like not qualifying for EE is the straw that broke the camels back
NicePost
Cooler heads must prevail here. I know Benn was put off by Admission's decision, considering every other school in the nation would voluntarily shoot their Admission's director if Benn wasn't accepted, but you got to believe he'll realize what he's giving up for the simple convenience of starting some months earlier than normal. As has been posted, you just know Weis is on this one. Just hope Benn will take the call!

Obviously grades aren't an issue.....Is there any way he can do something to become an EE or is it too late at this point?? this is what im wondering. was there a reason given as to why he was denied EE? what causes a player to be denied EE? if one can get into the university on regular time then why is it different for EE? does one need even higher grades for EE? can he reaply for EE? FROSH
while jimmy clausen put in a lot of effort during the summer to make sure he would qualify for early admission benn may not have done the same. you need to have certain courses completed and often times it would be hard to do without some summer school or really working at it during the school year. Guest AtlantaIrish
I still feel that Benn will be Irish...I think he wants to surprise everybody and I am optimistically hopeful that he will announce Irish when the time comes.
ndblue
Talk about a miscommunication between ND and Benn. To be an EE you would need grades, test scores and be able to graduate early with all your core classes. You hear all the time about kids having to send their transcripts to ND, take their tests, etc... Their has to be more than he was denied EE. Is ND starting to limit EE? Either someting came up short like core classes before December or EE is being reconsidered?
Guest Pete
For ND to take someon as an EE, they need to excell in the admissions part, not just being able to enroll in school is good enough
NDFan3
Question: Why do the top prospects always seem to lack in the academic department?? Honestly, how hard is it to pull B's in your core classes? If you take all CP courses there is NO REASON that you shouldn't be able to get a least a low B. Have we ever had any contact with Terrance Tolliver?
nd1baby
Perhaps not that they are stupid but they are used to getting what they want. Hence the hissy fit by Benn. Once he calms down, he'll come back to ND, Clausen and certain glory. I mean if USC or Ohio State were the challengers then I could understand him bolting. But FSU, Illinois and Maryland? Has to be a huge joke.
NDJoe06
Hey NDFan3 lets not insult these kids! We don't know these yound men, and even if we did it is not our place to judge them. for practical reasons its wrong as well...prospects read and hear about these forums. Now prospects are stupid? I don't think so. If Benn reads this i hope he doesn't come away thinking that ND thinks he is stupid. As a domer i can say that if you can get in (athlete or not) i respect you and i do NOT consider you stupid.
NicePost
I think we need to put the brakes on the conjecture when it gets to the point that we are attacking the kid. We don't have the whole story and yes, these kids read the boards. Remember the comments of Gary Gray who was taken aback by the Gamecock fans who skewered him on the boards after he withdrew his offer. You NEVER KNOW who's reading your comments. Please be careful.
