CFP top 10 added to OP.  Irish at #15.  USC drops to #6 below LSU.  UNC #17

I absolutely despise USC, but LSU jumping them and moving to #5 is an absolute effing joke!  And by that I mean the committee!  This right here is why I hate the SEC hype machine, because it has for real ruined College Football!

I am at work so I had to watch the show on my computer without sound.  I don't know what they said as their reasoning for placing them above USC but I can see why it was done.  USC in the PAC and LSU in the SECW...shit, sorry, I can't even try to pretend...it makes no f ucking sense whatsoever.  They have two losses to USC's one, and one of them was an absolute curb stomping loss.  But hey, ESPN gotta prop up their conference.  ESPN will have their chance to move up LSU a week from tonight after the Irish knock off USC.  But until then its bogus shit.

Note that LSU did not jump Southern Cal in the CFP rankings. They were ahead of them last week.

That said, LSU played a nobody this week. That game should not move the needle. Also, one of their losses (Tennessee) also does not look as good since the Vols lost.

Southern Cal beats a ranked UCLA on the 'road' (at worst treat the game as a neutral site) seems like a reason to jump LSU in my book.?

Exactly what I was thinking, especially about ESPN pushing their SEC Hype Machine!  😑

Ah, okay.  I thought LSU was below USC.  But you’re exactly right.  LSU should not be at #5 based off of what happened this past weekend!

Here’s another thing that’s been bothering me. TCU had how many ranked wins?  2 as of right now. But at the time they played them it was 4. With their highest win only one ranking behind Penn State. So…why is Michigan ahead of them. Or Ohio State for that matter. Strictly going off THIS YEAR, TCU should at least be 2.  But hey, got to get the biggest conference their lions share of the money.

I suspect that CFP voters had Ohio St and Michigan #2 and #3 to give themselves flexibility for the final ranking. Easier to bump TCU out if they keep them at #4.

I live in TCU country.  Have never been able to root for them, though.

Their biggest wins:  Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas.  How good are any of those teams, really?  And Kansas was ranked when they played too.  I understand the skepticism about TCU.  There's no doubt they're a good team.   None.  But, have them play LSU or Clemson or Alabama or Tennessee or Oregon, the teams ranked behind them in the AP, and see what happens.  I doubt TCU would beat any of them.

My biggest question, because I am in TCU country, is, would TCU beat ND?  Over the first half of the season I would undoubtedly have said yes.  Now?  I doubt it.  But, in my mind it depends on which TR offense shows up for ND.

I don’t question what you’re saying. BUT, who has Michigan beaten besides Penn State. Then look at Penn State. Who have they beaten. The big 10 is really down this year. The same goes for Ohio State. ND and Penn State. But I can let that slide since it’s one more than Michigan. At least those other teams are ranked or were. That’s my only complaint. What are we judging these guys on?  If it’s the eye test than it’s time to scrap the whole system.
