This is a tricky one. Stanford's offense is statistically better in terms of points per game NDs defense is better. ND's record is better. with a 2.4 point differential it's clear that Notre Dame is not in position where they can assume a win. I hope they bring the same energy and don't let down.

Faith wasting no time preparing for next week already.  Probably already putting more work into Stanford than the coaching staff has yet haha

Thanks bud. Stanfords played a really tough schedule early with 3 of the 4 losses being against ranked teams. Dosn't make me feel great. One of those if I don't prepare today work will make sure I don't.

ALOT like ND. 4 is their fast guy. 84 is their tight end They play slow and try to beat you up front. Going to be a challenge. Learned they fumbled 8 times already. Just lost that oregon state game by 1 point.

My old butt fell asleep at halftime lastnight but I heard the announcers say that Shaw tweaked game prep the try to get his team to play better.

seemingly that tweak worked as they didn’t look as anemic as they have.

I hate that this is a night game, they haven’t been decent in a few years

Sounds like they’re going away unless ND is on the road against a big10 team.

Really? I have t heard that, but I’d hate to see it limited to that.

I like the idea of one of the home games against a big opponent being a night game, but a home against Stanford this year? Nah

Yessir. NBC’s role in the Big10 media deal allotment is the prime time slot for a Big10 team.

I’m pretty sure Smith is out for the year

Thanks I should find an injury report too!

From a defensive perspective, this should be a 6+ sack game and not allowing more than 75 yards rushing. Stanford’s OL was bad, and now they are down 2 starters, including their best lineman in their LT. Stanford may not even try to run as they have a legit QB. But I doubt they can protect him.

similar in the other side, Stanford shouldnt be able to stop the run. I can see another game where all three RBs have over 100 yards. This would open up the play action. My only concern here is if Stanford loads the box, can ND take advantage over the top? So far they haven’t proved that.

on the turnover side, Stanford is last in differential. Though ND isn’t great here either cuz they’ve only forced 2 on the year.

@coltssb What do you think of this game?  I loved your prospective in the earlier game threads! I think you should start the thread next week!

I think it will be a cakewalk, something to the tune of 38-10.

The O should be able to run all over them and the D should be close to pitching a shut out (provided they stay away from those 2nd half brain freezes!)

@FaithInIrishForeverIm 0-2 this year on starting threads. I think I’ll take a back seat because my superstition is kicking in.
Is Bracy going to play?
Stanford is always a tough game no matter how bad they are. Everything screams blowout right now. They have two  o-linemen that are injured one being the backup to the starter who is already injured. They lost their running back Smith for the season. So, they are going to have to pass and pass a lot on this game. Can the defense step up?  I think they can. I just wonder about the pass defense without Bracy for this game.
ND should be able to do just about anything they want on offense to Stanfords defense. Everyone else has.  I suspect that ND will try and run and run a lot to see how Stanford does against it. I actually think they will stop us for the time being. This will be won by the wideouts. I suspecting Thomas to come back with even a better game. His best game so far. 28-21 Irish. Should be more but ND continues to let teams hang around.

38-10.

People will want to start believing again, but they'll say, "It's just Stanford." Fair enough.

ND- 34

Stanford- 20
