Buchner is a mid/tier Purdue, Indiana, or Northwestern type of QB.ย  He'd be great for a program in the 50-100 rankings, for sure.ย

Avg Arm, mobile, overall just boring without upside.ย  Certainly not a QB you can compete for anything meaningful with (Just like Coan, Book, etc).

Next year will be just another wasted season.ย  They will win one of the Clemson/BYU/UNC games, get hammered by OSU,ย  and win 8 vs the other dogs on their schedule.ย

Same old Same old.ย  Notre Dame will never be a top tier program until they can recruit elite QBs to get them to the next level.ย

Jack Miller would have been an instant upgrade.ย  Oh well.ย

Your point still does not stand. If you think this loss is on Buchner, then you really are a worse evaluator than I originally thought.

But it is interesting to see you with only 12 posts over a span almost a year and all of them are negative and only showing up after a loss...

Buchner will never be the solution. Terrible throwing motion and slow delivery, he pushes the ball. The accuracy is poor and there is little to no touch. When does he ever get to his second read? This contributes to his turnovers because defenders can already ID this on tape.

Heโ€™s got no feel in the pocket and doesnโ€™t protect the football. At least Wimbush could tear up anyone on the ground outside of the the top 10, Buchner is just a good athlete, far from a great one.ย

The loss is not solely on Buchner but we saw glimpses of the same stuff when he threw from the pocket last year. Better OL or not, this team will be lucky to get to a bowl game. Pyne isnโ€™t the answer either unfortunately. This is 2007 level bad, I say throw Angelli in and see what you have before you make a run at a few transfers.ย

Anybody that watched TB play last year and thought he would be this great QB was fairly delusional. I kept hearing these reports of how good he looked at practices leading in to the season. Great, but that's practice. I wanted to see how that would translate in to game-speed, real world play under the bright lights and on the big stage. I wasn't even cautiously optimistic because I couldn't get last year's TB out of my mind...and what I'm seeing is yes, a slightly more confident kid out there, but with all the same deficiencies he had last year.
