It is hard to not like the guy... I hope he does well here, seems like a truly genuine and kind soul.

Thanks.  It was interesting to see how he presented after that loss

Who gives a damn? He failed horribly today. That’s the problem with fans like you. I’d rather have the a hole coach who didn’t look completely lost in the 2nd half. All of this nice guy talk makes me want to puke. He’s here to win games, that’s it.

Go check out Mike Gundy’s post game. You see the difference in preparation, his answers are much more precise on how he gauged ND, prepared, and how to counter us, plus how he adjusted and got his payers to buy in for the 2nd half comeback.

Freeman’s answers were vague and generic, dare i say, BK like.

We’ll now see how much of a hard worker Freeman is . He has A LOT to learn, and adjust from this defeat.

In fairness to Freeman, he’s never had to assess what’s happening on both sides of the ball. We can only hope that his work ethic overcomes his experience limitations.

My belief is that Swarbrick made this move to the inexperienced Freeman because he gambled that recruiting was the missing piece to taking the next step. Everything hinges on Freeman navigating a steep learning curve, because recruits will ultimately gauge him on results. Being a players coach won’t help him if he gets tactically out coached like he did yesterday.

The only people who feel this way are irrational, unreasonable, entitled "fans." That's not a coach that you describe - it's a drill sergeant.

If I'm a player or a parent picking a coach - "just win" is not the only metric. In fact, that would be a huge red flag and that coach can go find a different player, one who only cares about winning and not about anything else.

This is Notre Dame. A school that has *never* been about "just winning." I can't believe you haven't realized this up to this point but it explains why you're so grating and negative all the time. You're rooting for the wrong school and for the wrong reasons and taking your frustration out on people who aren't as lost in their ways as you are.

Nick Saban

A new head coach who is a month into it versus a head coach with 15+ years at the same school loses by a few points in a NY6 bowl game.

In one sense, better than any NY6 performance we saw in the past 12+ years.

Given the talent in the 2023 class committed so far, I am willing to give Freeman some time to grow into the HC role and assemble a full staff. Ohio St game will be tough as an opener but if Freeman can win more than 8 games next year, he will have started better than Bayou Brian.

There will be growing pains, we saw some on Saturday. No one predicted he would be perfect right off the bat.
