I admire Marcus Freeman. I am grateful for somethings about Kelly I will outline as well,

When I think about Freeman  i think  about MOTIVATION. When I think of Kelly I think of ORGANIZATION.

When i think about Freeman I think of COMPETITION. When I think of Kelly of think of DEPARTMENTS/PARTS OF A WHOLE

When I think about Freeman I think about ENERGY and EMOTION. When I think of KELLY I think about PLANNING, PROCESS, AND OUTCOME.

I really commend Jack Swarbrick for picking two leaders who Bring/ have brought, all these words to the program. I really hope Marcus continues Kelly's positive traits while adding his own.

Thanks. I know Kelly's career move is Fresh but things he did organizationally were awesome, from training table to BALIS, fundraise for the new indoor facility, etc.

When he got emotional on gameday it appeared he got angry. When he wasn't angry, it seemed like he wasn't always sure what his gameday role should be. Tried playcaller for a bit(he is good at it, but he wasn't happy not being there for the defense) He ended up coaching the QB alot on gameday with mixed results.

It will be interesting what role Freeman chooses to take on gameday. During the bowl game it most likely will be head coach/defensive Coordinator. I would still expect he will be involved with the linebackers as that was the position he played.

Does anyone know how often Kelly went 1s on 1s?

It appears as if Kelly ran his practices more like an NFL team with the players talking about the intensity and they go live good against good way more often.

I pretty sure he did in spring but not fall very much(injury risk). No source but you know how much 3 minute practice video I've watched and posted

Just to add one more. I remember the offense and the defense have separate fields and exchange scout teams in fall (so that's 1's v. freshman and walk-ons). I do remember each Saturday of spring they scrimmaged (1 vs 1). But the individual 1 v. 1's on the practice videos blew my mind.  I don't remember individual EVER being 1 v. 1 in fall but again I only watched produced practice video.

Does anyone know much about Southern Cal's "Competition Tuesdays" when Carroll was there? I remember it contributed to the culture since players seemed to feel that they had a path to increased playing time by performing well in practice.

Freeman's Good on Good sort of reminds me of that
