Dec. 15-17. This year has a lot more intrigue than years past. Guys up in the air...Williams, Walker, Moore, and Lucas. Any surprises...doubtful this year, outside of Lucas, given the coaching change and mad scramble. It will be the transfer portal and did anyone not sign early that ND can go after leading into the traditional NSD.

 

I won't be around much Wednesday or Thursday potentially depending on announcement times, so looking for people to fill in!

Thankfully I am off work Wednesday, but not sure where to go outside of twitter to follow all the news. I guess Irish Breakdown will be monitoring it as well LIVE.

The only names I am curious about are the ones you mentioned. Though, I am not very optimistic on Moore. I consider him a Florida commit, if he signs with ND, then I would see it as a last second steal...

There will be new names after the early signing day if we miss out.  If someone doesn't sign Im sure the staff will go after those guys

Agreed, I'm just not sure anyone knows right now other than the ND staff having some potential ideas.

He’s just a warm body. We aren’t missing anything by not getting him. He’s truley underwhelming and over rated. If we keep Walker and with Tobias I think we are good. Seniors will come back. There’s always the portal of needs be. We don’t need a kid who truly doesn’t want to be here and is one hard day from transferring out. Again he’s really not that special.

Hard disagree here

USC can have all the WRS they want, games are won up front and that is what we currently have and have coming in. Freeman is also recruiting higher rated CBs which is another need for us. IMO WRs are dime a dozen

I only know what I read on the recruiting threads and it seemed like a lot of guys were very high on CJ. We are thin at the WR position so I hope you are right.

Me too, but this isn’t just sour grapes on my end. I don’t usually shat on players who decommit I just wasn’t ever truly impressed with him compared to our other 2 commits. 3 would have definitely been better than 2 but I will take the 2 that are committed over Williams and I felt that way before he decommitted.

Tomorrow is a huge day for the class. Devin Moore is announcing at 8am, Amorion Walker is announcing at 10am, and Anthony Lucas is announcing at 2pm. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll be a great day for the Irish. Here is what I think will happen.

Moore: Florida

Walker: Michigan

Lucas: A&M

Moore was looking around prior to BK. I think this is a C.J. Williams situation where he wants to stay close to home. All the experts I have seen have him going to UF. I honestly have no clue on Walker, but there has been smoke about him flipping to Michigan since the summer. He has taken multiple visits, just hosted Harbaugh for an in-home, and his dad seems all about UM. I hope he sticks because he has potential, but I have a hard time seeing ND win this one. Lucas is a longshot. If he doesn't end up at A&M, I think he goes with Alabama. I just don't see him picking ND.

I think CJ will be a stud WR... I thought he was the best WR among the 3 we had committed. He will probably give us nightmares these next 3-4 years.

CJ Williams didn't even mention Coach Freeman, but did mention Coach Kelly in his de-commitment post. I know that Coach Freeman didn't initially have anything to do with the offensive recruits. Not a slight at Coach Freeman by any stretch. I just think a defensive coach being hired, USC being close to home and the negative recruiting about our offense not really producing well at WR did it. I don't really factor in Freeman not being a part in his recruitment, because neither was Lincoln Riley as he wasn't recruited by OU.

CJ was flirting with USC long before Kelly left for LSU. When USC got Riley, it was going to be hard to keep Williams. USC has always had very good WRs and now they have an offensive guru. Plus, USC right down the road from him.
