I’d take him and give him an opportunity to compete for time. As long as no promises are made and we have scholarships, I say bring him in for depth.

  • I wouldn’t read too much into ND’s interest in Slovis. Given that he’s likely heading to Pitt, it tells me they guaranteed him as the starter and we more likely than not didn’t guarantee him anything.

Slovis leaving USC. Always liked him as a QB.

Could ND be an option?

Go for it. Buchner hasn’t shown he can throw the ball. I don’t trust him at all right now.

ND should shoot for him. You can never have to much QB depth and with as much as they are running Buchner having a viable back up is needed. He probably wants to go somewhere that he is guaranteed to start though.

Although, I ripped USC qb’s. Out if all the qb transfers out there, he would be the best IMO right now. I would take a stab at him since I don’t fully trust Buchner just yet.

Always. However his numbers have regressed in recent seasons.

We sure he wasn't coached by Kelly. Those look like the numbers of QB under Kelly for 3 years. 🤣

Just joking around no need for someone to go and pull all the ND QB numbers under Kelly to try to prove me wrong.

Fully agreed, but I dont see him going anywhere he basically isn't guaranteed the starting position, but no harm in going after him and maybe catching lightning and adding depth in the QB room.

I'm done defending Kelly myself. Got really tired of doing it and it all really became the same conversation every year

B+ recruiting

Couldn't win the biggest games

I know I quoted you but that was just for the first line. The second line wasn't directed at you at all. Always much love and respect Faith.

Oh I know. Slovis would get the same grade as Bo Nix for most. Tyler Buchner is the back-up and therefore most popular QB at ND this year.

I'd bring them all in to watch them throw myself. Then choose if I want to offer or pass

I like Slovis for the role, I don't like the idea of Bo Nix. I think if you take Bo Nix it says you don't trust Buchner and I think that is a bigger issue than just looking for someone for change of pace or to bridge the gap a bit. I like Slovis as a pocket passer and I think he would do well under Rees.

Nix is what Buchner’s floor should be. ND doesn’t need a Dollar Store Manziel. I really like Slovis as a passer and would like to see ND push for him. BUT, his injury history is a concern. He got the crap kicked out of him at USC.

You liked the player that ended at FSU last year quite a bit, Had good numbers at a lesser known Florida school, and a very severe.  leg injury history Think Jordan Travis played more than Milton.

Looking back on it would you take Coan or Milton?

BTW. Coan appears to have better numbers than Slovis or Nix. Slovis is closer though.

I don’t remember stumping for Milton. I was fine with Coan knowing it was a 1 yr gig. In fact, I believe I very vocally defended him being the starter over Buchner bc of his experience and Buchner’s lack there of.

I remember that I just remember alot of talk over Milton, can't find it. I know he had a thread last winter

Milton thread. Or transfer. I know what you’re talking about Faith. I can’t remember the thread either.

Slovis would be a better option than Bo Nix, but I think bringing in Slovis would hurt recruiting and be a slap in the face to the QBs on the roster. Gotta trust the system and I think Buchner has all the potential in the world if given more experience.

You didn't my apologies you had mentioned McCaffrey though. Did he end up playing for his dad? Got the names mixed up.

It was the Younger MCcaffrey I'm losing my mind Sorry @ELDER06

So talented.

These grad transfer QB decisions are tough. I'm with you guys that say trust your recruiting ND hit a goldmine with Coan

Hurts, etc are the exception not the rule.
