Nick is getting some notice as handling to position groups during this transition. He’s coaching Linebackers for Marcus and taking over Special Teams. Might transition to something bigger for next year.  Pretty good for a former walk-on turned GA this year.

He’s been on staff for awhile helping or coaching the linebackers. I don’t think he’s just appeared. They may want to add some new blood to the staff too. At some point, you need a grey beard on that staff.

Polian leaving and Freeman's promotion meant a position group did not have a position coach heading into a bowl game.  Only official coaches and GAs can "coach".  Lezynski couldn't have done that as an analyst.

It probably doesn't mean much more than that.

Right. That’s exactly how I looked at it too.
