October 31, 20213 yr Just inconsistency in my opinion. This defense can be really good, but they should have held UNC to about 20 points today if they could tackle better. SO MANY MISSED TACKLES!

November 1, 20213 yr Some of the numbers look good. But my eyes show me we have real big problems. Tackling is a coaching issue.

The question I have is do we have another defensive scheme that makes players think to much (BVG) and not just play the game. Are we spending so much time on the "concepts" and not enough on the fundamentals (tackling). Freeman is coming back I assume (unless someone gambles and makes him a HC) so I hope year 2 is better.

It doesn’t feel that way. BVG defenses weren’t even getting sacks and interceptions like this team. I just think he has the wrong guys playing defense right now.

Players in the system to me is an excuse, while maybe plausible I believe it is overblown. Angles and wrapping up are fundamentals. Navy will be a HUGE test.

I think White and Bertrand are better with Navy's skillset @cali_domer I'm going to say they both have good games vs Navy So lets put the players play thing to test. @cali_domer feel free to hold me to the above stat in the game thread next week. That was I think White and Bertrand are better vs Navy

It will be a taxing game for sure.
November 1, 20213 yr Author I'm Gambling on them for sure @coltssb I think thats why my friend @cali_domer is looking forward to holding me accountable when/if I'm wrong. I'm just doing it to spice up the board a bit.
November 5, 20213 yr Author I think ND defense has allowed an average of 137 yards rushing 1096 yards/8 games 257.75 yards passing 2062/8 games Now I need to find the averages of the opponents Post in progress thanks for your patience
November 6, 20213 yr The jury is still out on Freeman, however he deserves more time based on how well he is recruiting. If the cupboards weren’t bare at defensive back and we didn’t have the injuries at linebacker, I wonder how much better this D would look.
