I thought the Irish would have moved up a little. I do not understand why the voters kept them at #14?

We are not a good team,  I am fine with it.

Yeah it seems about right

Not when 4 teams in front lose!

We're not that good, and took a comeback to beat a non-top 25 team.

It's just hard for me to complain too much. All of the teams in front of us either are undefeated, or have better wins. The "good loss" argument really only holds weight if you look good in others games. And we've rarely looked good.

Not sure we can beat Oregon, Ohio State, PSU or Bama right now…

I don’t think many of those voters watched the game. They probably just saw the final score, maybe some highlights. I think If you watched how ND fought back the way they did you be a lot more impressed with this W.

Against an unranked VT who only beat Richmond by 11? 14th is fine, and we're lucky to not have lost a second already.

I hope Buchner starts so next season he should be ready to take over.

Exactly that is my point because they played an unranked team no one is going to appreciate that W unless they watched it. The atmosphere alone was unreal. How ND had to play especially in those last 4 minutes is not appreciated. Both the offense and defense played lights out…..knocking out their #1 and #2 QBs. When was the last time ND did that. Now they need to play a full game that way.

VT is not a good team... They are Purdue with a great environment.

we've struggled in every game and almost every quarter except the fourth against wisconsin.....we have a better record then our play might determine,   so   14 is fine....if we somehow manage to keep wining we will be ranked where we should be,

aloha

Remember when we went to OT with an FSU team that has maybe one win with a loss to a non-D1 opponent…?

We’re struggling despite having SEC talent…

Bama loses to an absolute trash a and m team and they drop to 5?!  Lol rankings are a joke.

Bama gets the benefit of the doubt because of who they are. We do not deserve that benefit especially this season. We have played poor every game this season.

#14 is about right. 3 wins are by 3 points and ND doesn't have that signature win.

We will stick there for a while.  Toledo will haunt us.  They are not the top tier MAC team that BK played up when we faced them.  They just lost to an NIU team that M beat 63-10.  Purdue will haunt us for a while.  They just lost to an inconsistent Minnesota team and will probably lose a few more times in the next 3 weeks.  FSU starting out 0-4 really hurt.  We don't have any marquee games left.  Our best hope is to beat USC, UNC, Stanford, etc. by big margins, not nail biters.

The down side of playing an ACC-dominant schedule is no one will believe GT or UVA will be much of a challenge even if they improve and really do pose a schematic challenge for us.

Yep!  Let’s face it. Does anybody truly want to be in the final four with this team. Sure I would love for it to happen but not at the expense of getting beat by 30. As mentioned, and has struggled with very bad teams. What would they do against elite competition?

No, use this year for growth. The top four would be horrible this year. Can you imagine our offense versus's Georgia's defense? Yikes.

But Kelly does well in big games. Perhaps ND would pull the upset...

I would love it for guys to get experience. But not the humiliating kind. Get Buchner as many reps as you can without getting a loss.
