As always, please wait till the game concludes.

Let the moaning and groaning commence lol...

1. When I saw Kelly jawing Buchner I knew he would only get worse. He did.

2. Coan is clearly the best passing QB. Rees’ offense to support him is unimaginative and predictable.

3. That call on the Freshman Tight End was awful.

4. Swarbrick said Notre Dame was at the apex of its value. We’re a middling ACC football team.

5. 11 years into Kelly’s regime we barely beat teams with far less talent. We’ve been living a lie for a long time. No more evident than this year.

Even worse was Hamilton’s “roughing the passer”

  • Author
  1. QBs
    • Glad Buchner got some steady time. 2 INTs and the INT drop were cringe worthy though. But the snaps should pay dividends
    • Coan was never "bad". 2/3 before pulled, and just isn't great with a folding OL. Came back in with poise after getting pulled and was perfect. He deserves props.
    • So we still basically don't know who our QB is, although my money is still on Coan starting next game
  2. RBs
    • RBs couldn't get it going early at all with the OL struggling, but...
    • Williams had some very tough runs. Never had a run over 10 yards, and AVG'd under 4.0, but did just enough.
    • Diggs has some very nice carries.
    • Thought we might see CBo?? who is a tough runner
  3. Offensive line
    • still sucks. was better later when we needed it, but still not good. And really awful early in both run blocking and pass pro
    • costly penalties still happening
  4. TE/WR
    • TE We need the Monster back. Surprised we won tonight without him. Better get well over the bye
    • Will some of you cut Austin some slack now lol... some critical catches and 70 yards on 3 catches
    • AD with another good game
  5. Defense - not great, but we only gave up 22 offensive points... that's not at all horrible.
  6. Props to JD for a long game winner.... had to close my eyes.

For sure, bang-bang play!

1. Tons of freshmen getting snaps tonight in big moments: Buchner, Diggs, Alt, Colzie, Styles, and Berrong.

2. Defense was maybe a bit sloppy for long stretches of the game. Cam Hart's missed tackle on that swing pass was....bizarre?

3. Kyren is so, so good.

4. Doerer with the monster kick.

5. Game was far from perfect but this team showed fight and refused to lose. Could be incredibly important, especially headed into the off week, to build positive momentum heading into the back end of the season. 5-1.

Honorable Mentions:

1. Officiating was so bad. Hamilton's "roughing", at least two missed late hits on our RBs out of bounds (Kyren and Diggs), a bunch of missed holds, etc. etc.

2. Some of you are the most miserable people I've ever seen in my life. Can't we ever just be happy we won?

I usually have 5 of these.

1. Snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat

2. 5-1 before the bye.

3. road win

4. clutch FG

5. I liked Logan Diggs.

Sorry for lack of detail.

1. Doerer makes kicks when the game is on the line.
2. Tom Rees needs to go. Not truly utilizing the strengths of his players. He has an offense he thinks should win, but it’s not an offense that utilizes the true talents of the guys on the field, and it has little imagination.  Hopefully some school like Eastern Tennessee School of Cuticular Studies offers him a head coach position, forcing Kelly to bring in an OC with actual OC credentials.
3. Each of ND’s QB’s has serious limitations. I grow frustrated watching freshmen QB’s succeed routinely at other places (see OU today for instance).
4. This team lacks an identity.
5. There are truly some great players on this team. Amazing, really.

1- offence looked way better in the hurry up, gotta start using that more.

2- cornerback play isn’t good enough… need to wrap up.

3- reffing was awful and almost cost us.

4- I have more questions than answers after that game. Where was that Coan in the first half? Where was that blocking in the first half? This QB situation is a mess.

5- this is the worst 5-1 ND team I’ve seen and they might win out because the schedule is so weak. With that o line, qb play, lack of pressure… I’m rambling. I’m enjoying the games but lost for words right now.

5-1, we have the same record as Bama through 6 games.

1.We won

2.We won

3. This season is a rebuild and I am approaching it with that in mind. We are not good, but we at least beat who we should

4. OL played a bit better

5. Kyren is a stud.

,

1.  one of the most bizarre ND games I’ve ever seen

2.  Hamilton call, two late hits in running backs, clipping call on Kristofic, the Hinish almost horse collar, the targeting on the right end - the reffing was baaaad…

3. Doerer is weirdly clutch on long distance

4.  Buchner did some nice things but has a long ways to go  BK stop yelling at him.  He hasn’t played in two years  he’ll at the senior Coan instead

5.  I will not yell at the o-line  when Buchner and Pyne were in the sacks are down and the running g lanes are better.
im behind you O-line!

Honorable mention Austin.  Need to do that every game  stop being a pretender and be the all-American people think you can be  get some damn confidence already and take a class from Kyren Williams on how to ball and know it

1. I just don't see this O-Line getting much better this season.

2. Buchner has a ton of potential.

3. Agree that this looks to be a rebuilding year, quite a few freshmen saw playing time today.

4. Doerer has made some clutch FG's.

5. ND won (again)!

Not sure if this is semi-complimentary or what...?

Either way, kudos to the team for pulling out the W's in these close games.

I'm at a loss trying to figure this team out....I'll just go along for the ride and see what bowl game the Irish get.

1.) Beating middling ACC teams in thrillers is getting old.  ND has top 10 or near top 10 recruiting classes every year.

2.) Was super impressed with Coans decisive accurate throws on his final drives. One was a quick out to Lindsey I believe where the D lineman came through the B game perhaps on a simple twist untouched.

3.) Was impressed with the offensive line's intensity even though they turned some D Lineman loose still.

4.) I'm ok with Buchner getting meaningful snaps as opposed to being a gadget/package player, but if they roll with him they're going to lose a lot more games.

5.) I feel bad for Chris Tyree that he's sandwiched and I wouldn't be surprise if he enters the portal if he can't get more touches.

Chris Tyree had turf toe, but I am still baffled we can’t find a way to get him ten touches a game. That is on Rees, he is our most explosive player and all he does is return kicks.

what changes were made on the o line? I can’t remember but they were better than they have been.

Feel Bad for Tyree because he has turf toe and that';s why Diggs was in. Tyree will be the lead dog next year after Williams heads to the NFL.

Hard to give players many touches on offensive when you have a bunch of 3 and outs... Maybe some day, ND will have an offense that will score 40+ points a game like other CFP contenders.

Alt and Kristofic were on the left side I believe. Both over 300 where the other guys weren’t. Replaced Correll and Carmody(maybe). More size is what Bk wanted. At least that’s what I’m trying g to remember from the presser.

Austin deserves a game ball

Line play was marginally improved

Doerer is clutch

Turner’s drop on that long pass after the 2 point convert was huge

I love the atmosphere there. We need a new upbeat entrance shtick…

One last one - BK looked confident in the tunnel pre-game, a stark contrast to the National Championship game…
