My understanding has always been that, based on NCAA rules, someone on football scholarship can play baseball, but someone on baseball scholarship cannot play football.

Sort of. They can start on baseball, but once he is on the football team, it changes to a football scholly.

A way to get around the 25 man signing class, but not the cap.

Interesting that his commitment post only has baseball images. I doubt he ever plays a single down on the football team. If he is on the scout team, but never plays in a game, does the scholarship rule still apply to dual-sport athletes?

Either way, he may try to pursue football, but I dont see it happening. His position is QB? Nah, they are good with Angeli and they took the scout team QB last year with Powell.

sounds like he wants what amounts to a try-out. Like you said no big deal.

#70 baseball recruit so good pick-up for the baseball team. Not sure if he needs to count against the 85 man limit for football unless he actually plays in a game. Does anyone know the rule about non-football scholarships athletes who end up playing football?

He would have to play a down in a game for his scholarship to count against the football team

Fixed

Wrong thread?

Oops haha

@Mike does the new software allow me to move posts within a forum? I have moved between forums before just don't see the button for a couple posts that were meant for another thread. Is that what the "split function" is  for. No big deal guys I just see an opportunity for me to learn the software better.

Hey faith! Yes you can. There should be an option to do it at the top of the page and a thread, or from a forum itself. I'm on the road right now, but here's a screenshot how to do it in the thread itself. But just send me a message so having trouble and I'll take a look at permissions when I'm back at the computer.
