Kelly & company doing OK with transfers

If Marshall OL Cain Madden does indeed transfer to ND, then Kelly will have recruited at least two of the top ten transfers (Coan and Madden)

Pretty good 2021 transfer portal results for what will become an increasing important part of team building for college football.

As a transfer, I am sure Notre Dame is a very appealing school. The flip side is that Notre Dame does not really go for best available, they go for position of need; I respect that. I have been very happy with the transfer portal in recent years as a ND fan.

My only issue with this is ND actually does well in recruiting o-linemen so nothing surprising here. As for Coan, he fits the perception that I have for Kelly’s qb’s. So, I’m in wait and see approach before I start thumping my chest as Coan being a great get.

Now, if ND started landing To’o To’o, Eric Gray, or Wan’Dale Robinson, then I would be impressed.

Need more money in McDonald’s bags to land some of those...  We don’t need those kind of problems.

Even getting a guy like Puka from Washington would of been impressive. But he’s already off the market.
but I’m happy with getting a guy like dump truck as a Nick name. I think that was his Nick name.

I think this will be the new normal with the new transfer rules. In Transaction terms ND basically released Dillon Gibbons from his scholarship(mutually) and signed Madden to a scholarship.

Second team AA for second string guard is a good trade (interesting that Florida State involved with both)

Yeah. It sounds like it’s going to be a mercenary thing. Who can pay the most. Who can get there players to talk to kids and cause doubt. Who can talk to kids who are disgruntled and convince them to switch schools. The flood gates have opened.

I just saw an article where a few Bama writers were debating whether To'o To'o would even start this season.  Crazy how much talent is on that roster.
