Kelly: Many say the John Cooper of Notre Dame

I've been like a roller coaster of feelings about him.

He's up after 12, slowly moving down 13-14, up again 15, rock bottom 16 upward 17-20 to a possible peak, and now if he's peaked its down again or if theirs a higher upward trajectory it might be stable.

Most agree he has made the changes to keep up on defense/strength and conditioning

Most were dissapointed that he didn't go get another "Head-Coach-Offense" Moorehead after last season.

Recruiting is good, but the sore spot is its not great.

I was highly critical of BVG/BK. I liked the hires after 16, saw a rebirth of sorts, now I don't know what to think, like the defense and the running game. Need to see a real passing game.

Recruiting to me as been a B/B- the whole way. Experts(not me) like Rivals National Guy- Mike Farrell say thats a good grade given what ND requires.

I've caught alot of people's anger over that one. I dream of As too guys!

Our poll bares that out as well. Most posters are in the B/B- area too.

This idea of me always defending Kelly is Silly. I'm just buckled up for the next chapter as I know John Cooper led to Jim Tressel. I want ND's program to be elite again. Kelly has it to the playoffs. There are the hardest steps left.

Here are more opinions

My biggest gripe about BK is that I think that he is comfortable being where he is. Some coaches hate losing so much that losing a game causes them to double their effort (and their staff's and players' effort) in an effort not to lose again. Coaches like Leahy and Meyer put so much into their jobs that it impacted their health.

I really do not think that losing to Clemson and Alabama this year is keeping BK from sleeping at night.

Yeah, Aaron Hernandez's criminal acts really were a grind on Urban Liar's health as he has to cover for him all the time and lose sleep over it.

BK knows Jack has his back so he faces zero pressure.
