Saw a quote from Lane Kiffin where he talked about Saban reviewing offensive practice film with him daily when he was OC at Alabama. He also mentioned that a head coach being intimately involved with both the offense and defense was not something that every coach did. Often offensive-minded coaches left the defense alone and vice versa.

Does anyone know Kelly 's level of involvement with both the offense and defense? Is he involved with the defense on a daily basis?

Also curious how the ND coaches' schedule matches up with Alabama's since Kiffin also mentioned that Alabama's day started with a daily 7:30 am coaches staff meeting.

Sabans probably on another level. Recruiting of course is the primary separation.

When Kelly ran the offense I would say no. 10-16. 17-20 I would say more likely. He started showing up at the weight room. I can only assume it also meant more defensive time. How much more? I have no clue. I'm no insider.

Saban has not called plays on defense in a long while. So he would make time.

His Success draws him another level of assistant coach. Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisan Bill O'Brien have been successful coaches that attached to Saban to relaunch coaching careers.

Saban's success comes from the top.

I believe that his entire coaching staff may be new since his last championship.

The fact that his recruiting machine, level of coaching, etc. has not missed a beat points back to him.

IMO, his ability to hire and develop staff and hold them accountable is one of his best traits.
