There have been a handful of guys to get a 7th year of eligibility in the last decade in the FBS.

Bryton Barr - Towson / UMass due to injuries. Also, Texas Tech offensive lineman Tony Morales got a seventh year granted, after missing four in a row with injuries. San Jose State running back Deontae Cooper did, too, after having three years erased by injuries. In the last decade, it’s also happened at Utah and Robert Morris

Believe he already announced he's not coming back for a 7th year. Gonna test the NFL Waters then proceed with his life. GO IRISH!
