Thereโ€™s more rain & storms in spring, at least in the Midwest.

Ya I grew up there and my entire family is still there (about 30 mins south of ND).....unless there has been some serious changes in Michiana weather patterns over the past 22 years I think they will be just fine.

ย

Pat Forde of Sports Illustrated has blamed President Donald Trumpโ€™s handling of COVID-19 for the 2020 college football season at risk. In a column published Thursday, Forde laid out how Trump has approached everything related to the pandemic since it began. The result is no packed stadiums at best and no season at all at worst. Thatโ€™s not good for a President who has major support in areas where college football reigns supreme.

ย

This column came out shortly after the NCAA released its latest report on resocialization of collegiate sport. A graphic in that report highlighted how far off the U.S. is from the downward trajectory that was projected when the NCAA began conversations about restarting sports at the end of April. That same graphic showed how much Europe, Canada and Japan have flattened the curve by comparison.

ย

College athletics across the board are being forced to decide whether to let their student-athletes assume the risk if they want or to save those student-athletes from themselves. Fall sports, one of which happens to be responsible for the revenue that trickles down everywhere else, could not have been put in a more precarious situation. Many fingers, including that of Forde, are being pointed at Trump, while others blame Americans who have refused to sacrifice enough or anything in the name of keeping all of their personal freedoms. Whoever is responsible, what weโ€™re seeing now is the result of four months of gross mismanagement all over the country.

A member of the sports media blaming Trump, shocking. Letโ€™s not blame China where this started or this mass unmasked protests/riots in the wake of George Floyd, itโ€™s all Trumpโ€™s fault bc orange man bad.

Or the unmasked rioters and looters and the groups of vandals tearing down statues at random, inclduing ND's name sake, the Blessed Mother and Jesus!

Weird how none of that gets brought up when assigning blame to the spread. Itโ€™s all the fault of orange man and maskless beach goers.

Germany and England have had sports for awhile now. Their cases continue to decline. The US and Brazil have almost or more cases than the rest of the world combined. Two things these countries have in common, hard right wing blowhards that had no plan and denied the severity. Englandโ€™s pubs are reopened, us are closing again. All other countries are improving, us is worse. You can put the blame on China with what coulda , shoulda, woulda, but ithe failed leadership is happening now and is evident. If we do not have CFB it is absolutely Trumps fault.

I understand the protests immediately following the murder of George Floyd were spontaneous, I support their right to protest. However, Iโ€™m tired of being fed these bs lies that this spread only bc ppl werenโ€™t wearing masks to the grocery store. If it spread bc of the protest, I can live with that. Itโ€™s part of living in a free society, just stop lying.

They also have far larger populations and more land mass. This whole Cluster f is ultimately Chinaโ€™s fault. You can fault Trumpโ€™s response, but this originated in China and they kept a lid on it as long as possible.

ย

Iโ€™m so tired of everyone using every single thing as a political tool. Itโ€™s possible that a lot of people share responsibility in spreading this virus, causing us to lose football.

No, I could blame China for a number of things, but the sole reason that we may not have college football is Trumps response. They were protesting in other countries too and for sure that is contributing to an increase, but Portland is not increasing as much as Miami, Minnesota as much as Texas ect. Finally, Germany has 6x the population density of the US, so thatโ€™s wrong as well.

They also donโ€™t have 50 difft states. If Trump had made a requirement for masks in April, you wouldโ€™ve called him a dictator. And China is the sole reason this virus exists, itโ€™s ultimately their fault. Again, being mad at Trumpโ€™s response is like being mad at the firefighters for taking too long to get to your burning house while totally ignoring any accountability of the arsonist

All of Europe which has a Massively higher pop density is going down. You donโ€™t know what I would have thought. Also, Trumps response is not showing up to the fire and saying it doesnโ€™t exist, while all the other fire departments respond to the fire instead and put it down. Thatโ€™s the difference.

Another possible measuring stick for Kelly's program. My worry is they will run the ball right over ND similar to 2012. Bama's offensive line averages 326 lbs while ND's front four on defense averages about 276. That type of physical mismatch might be too much for Clark Lea to scheme his way through. Hopefully it is played in South Bend if it happens.

Why not Tennessee?
