I agree with that statement. We need some sort of system that allows everyone who can work remotely to work remotely and prohibits employers from unnecessarily forcing them to work in person. But, for those who can and want to work in person, they can finally open up and go back to work. If they don't want to work, they can lose their jobs... But, in the end, there has to be some hybrid system that allows folks to continue to lag back and stay home while allowing anyone else to get out there and work...that'll slow the spread and prevent the hospitals from being overwhelmed while allowing a little more time to get some drugs or vaccines in place. In the end, it's tough to tell someone who has a high chance of dying to get out there and just suck it up for humanity, especially when there's a reasonable middle ground. Further, some employers need to get their a$$es in gear and catch up to the 2020's...most people can work virtually...they don't need to be in the office. Let's act like we understand technology and stop distrusting every employee out there...

Not sure about "most people" being able to work virtually. For the most part, office workers can work remotely with a reasonable investment in technology. However, it's industries such as construction, manufacturing, hair salons, gyms, etc. which employ a fair number of people who cannot really work from home along with travel/hospitality/sports/entertainment that are getting hammered.

I am working from home, so is my wife and my 2 daughters are back from college trying to do their studies online. We ran out of office space here. I am able to do my job from my lanai , but I don't get to meet face to face with my boss or my mentors or mentor the younger folks. We are falling behind professionally not being in the mix. I am an at risk person, and I don't want to come in contact with the virus either. But I can't wait to get tested to see if I may have had it. At one time I did have a slight fever, sore throat and a headache for 3 days while quarantined . If I had it and recovered, i would be back at work as soon as the state and my company says I can. But I doubt that I did. I am diabetic and probably would have been sicker than sh!t or died.

My wife and I do provide some care for her mother, she has stage 4 esophageal cancer and going through Chemo. I can't afford to catch anything let alone a damn virus.

So its quarantine city for me.

No. The people that are at high risk should stay home, the rest of us have lives to live. And the whole point of quarantine was to flatten the curve, not to prevent spread entirely but keep the HC system from being overwhelmed. These shifting goal posts are obvious.

Your last paragraph is exactly what some of these authoritarian Governors want. They want their citizens to be drunk/high, fat from fast food and no exercise and dependent on them for $. Wake the fck up.

The decisions to open/close and to what extent are 100% rooted in partisan behavior. Dem governors, particularly the ones who want to make Trump's response appear more inept, have restricted their states more than conservative governors have. I don't think that is a coincidence. Governors are simply taking whatever course of action they think will get them re-elected in their state. They couldn't care less about keeping anyone safe or healthy.

They've turned this pandemic into a political demolition derby during an election year, but your assertion that this has to do with controlling citizens is, well, comical. You prob also think that 5G cellular service is somehow involved.

Isn’t attempting to influence voting a form of control?

Are you telling me that politicians, who rely on the votes from their constituents to remain in office, shouldn't be attempting to influence the votes of the population? That's kinda been the way this country has operated for over a century now....

Using draconian methods to influence the Presidential election? Yes, that’s new.

Back to the OP's topic, is there any new info out there? will there be any type of college football this season?

Well, given the fact that LA's mayor has already said that there will be no sporting events through the rest of 2020 (not sure if he has "the power" to enforce it...but he said it), I would go with odds are definitely not good for a season this year.

EDIT: Of course, this is assuming that no vaccine is developed.

He’s a pssy. There’s no reason to make a declaration like that 4-5 months before the season.

If there’s no season and CF players are a given an extra yr of eligibility, would Ian Book return? I think he’d be stupid not to.

Yeah bc Football and Men’s Basketball pay for all of the other sports. There’s going to be a lot schools cutting non rev sports if there’s no football season.
