High School Football moved to spring here in the Northwest.

 

Kinda like college football is sending the kids to war with a plan to have a season.

I wonder what that does for recruiting by playing HS football in the spring.

If you’re your in highschool and already signed and a top 300 player, why would you play? Why risk injury or Covid? Your season will literally be in a few months anyways for college. Doesn’t make sense for highschool football to move in the spring for “top rated” kids.

Maybe kids just like to play football. Should these "top rated" kids then go to college and not play, saving themselves for the NFL?

Don't be silly. But they could save themselves for college and even enroll early. Which is what's happening already. The only real difference to now and even one year ago is the timing of the season. Play the season and turn around and enroll one month later only to start two a days in college. Eh.....

Yeah, AZ technically shut down for 2 weeks and we were back up and going after our docs had a conversation with Ducey. This I know for fact. We were back up and running full go after those two weeks pretty much. Now we were/are one of the epicenters in the US. Although, I guess it’s hard to argue with the logic at the time being how we didn’t have many cases. However......we also didn’t have any test kits at that time either. If you got sick good luck finding one here.

 

Given the current situation in AZ, I was curious as to who is getting most of the blame there. Is it the folks not following advice on masks and social distancing, the state gov't, the federal gov't, China? Or is it pretty much just blame all around? What is the general feeling of the citizens of AZ on this?

Obviously this is just my opinion but blame is everywhere I feel. We had ALOT of the younger crowd as soon as the bars and “nightclubs” opened in Scottsdale, they didn’t care to social distance and they were packed. Hence, why they are shut down again. I believe they were the first to spread it here. I knew about 5 people who got it. All in there early 20’s.

Now, not to just single out the young kids, there were quite a few older people who have disregarded wearing face masks until about three weeks ago. I ordered takeout from PF Chang’s one night and went in to get it and nothing but old people not wearing masks. Granted, how the hell are you going to eat with a mask on. But the bar still had people with no masks on. Thankfully they had chairs spaced apart well. As forgot govenor Doug Ducey, he’s been slayed on media and everywhere. Most feel he jumped the gun on opening up. We still have the tests yet, but he was he’ll bent on opening by pressure from businesses. So he opened, and then we got the tests. Of course once we did, our numbers spiked dramatically.

As for mask wearing NOW, it seems ALL businesses have mandated that you wear one before you step foot in their business. I see people now wearing masks everywhere. Of course we do have the anti-mask wearers. Which I don’t get. But that’s where we stand now. I think our numbers are dropping now but blame was put on everyone I think..
