Did he enjoy his visit. He is kind of on a low radar. When will he be announcing between michigan and ND.

Really haven't heard. Some of the more informed comrade's here would be able to answer that one. I have had an opportunity to see Michael play locally. He is an outstanding player. Has great presence and is a leader on the field. Michael and Notre Dame would be an excellent fit. Besides ND and Michigan, there are other defense respectable teams offering him. In the game against Oaks Christian, he played well.

Would be nice to know if Clausen talks to him from time to time? Some personal recruiting for the Irish?

Williams returns from ND

Scout.com’s No.13-ranked cornerback Michael Williams of St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura (Calif.) has been to Notre Dame a number of times in the past, so it wasn’t likely that he was going to learn anything new about the university. Instead, Michael was looking for comfort on his official visit this past weekend.

In a couple months Michael Williams (5-10.5, 187 pounds) will decide where he wants to attend college, and it’s very likely that his choice will come down to either Notre Dame or Michigan. The Irish received his initial official visit this weekend and they were hoping to make a strong impression on the standout cornerback.

“It was a good visit. It was a really good presentation” Williams replied when asked about his visit to Notre Dame. “I met with the Director of Admissions, Dan Saracino. It was nice meeting with him. He gave me a more in-depth perspective of Notre Dame and the process of how hard it is to get in there. I appreciated that.

“I had fun. I got to see what possible future teammates I’d have. It was fun to hear what the other recruits had about Notre Dame. It was actually very similar to mine.”

Also in attendance for the weekend were Armando Allen, Ben Martin, Chris Donald, Harrison Smith and Everson Griffen.

“It was fun hanging out with all the recruits and the players,” Michael explained. “That was the best part of the trip. Terrail Lambert was my host. We were both pretty happy to see each other. We hung out with Travis Thomas and D.J. Hord.

Although Williams had been to Notre Dame on a number of occasions, this was the first time he saw a game at Notre Dame stadium.

“I had fun at the pep rally and the game,” Williams explained “It was pretty intense for playing against Stanford. The students are crazy and I did some push-ups. It wasn’t that exciting of a game, but it was still a lot of fun. The students were standing up the entire game… they were pretty intense.

“The weather was nice, the Indian summer. A couple more weeks and it would have been beautiful… it was still really beautiful in my opinion. I really liked it. I wish I had taken some pictures.”

Michael isn’t certain how many additional official visits he will take, but he knows that he will certainly take at least one more.

“A visit with Michigan,” Williams said when asked about his other official trips. “I don't know when I'll take that visit because we don't have anymore bye weeks, from here on out it's non-stop. I haven't figured [whether I’ll t

Sounds like he enjoyed although he obviously still wants to visit Michigan. I love it when these recruits say that they hung out with each other at the game and got along well. Makes me think we could get them all :) . I remeber at last years AA game, the ND recruits were very close and made an impression on some undecided players, especially Sam Young. I personally think Williams will be ours, but who knows. At least we gained some ground this weekend.

Thanks for the post Black Irish9...sounded a little more personal to me than the typical post visit interviews by most!

i think this kid is irish

sure he is still going to visit michigan but ND has always had the inside track and i get the feeling he is irish

I think your right TD...he has clearly stated that ND has always been his favorite..Also, it looks good that his only bye week he took a visit to ND and not Mich...who knows when or if he will ever get a chance to go back across country to michigan

Yep, I agree. It seems from this article that getting out to ND was a lot more of a priority for MW than going to Ann Arbor

I am by far an expert on this, and I have no statistical numbers to base my opinion on, but...

Say I am a highly touted football player. And from the time I began playing Pop Warner football, and through all my developmental stages, I begin to feel that football is what I want for myself, to eventually one day become a professional football player? Now along the way my parents, friends and coaches have fed into my passion, and have even groomed me along this way? Now, lets throw in the fact that I play my high school football within the area of a nationally recognized program, say Notre Dame, USC, Ohio St, Texas and so on?

Well, growing up I wanted to become a Trojan (hypothetical...you will see where this is going?). My idols were Trojans. Now, I am receiving offers from around the nation...Michigan, Arizona, Cal Stae, Northwestern, Oregon and Notre Dame. Now Where is that Trojan offer? No offer from my childhood team? Well of all the teams playing my childhood favorite...which team brings the most intensity throughout the nation? I don't mean UCLA...I mean nationally? The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame of course.

So it only makes sense (to me) that Michael Williams has always had Notre Dame in head mind from the beginning? Notre Dame may not have been his first choice...as long as we are his final choice!

Notre Dame is his first choice. He grew up an ND fan and has had at least one relative who attended the school and I think they played football too.

michigan has been on him hard, credit ron english

but remember williams coach said he was suprised he didnt verb to ND on the spot when charlie offered him

Charlie did mention that some kids just don't want to go public for one reason or another. I'm not sayin but.....onn,pz

When his offer came in the mail his dad drove to his school and took him out of class to open it.... Then he went home and called his friends and family to tell them.

2005- Darrin Walls (#3 DB) and Raeshon McNeil (#7 DB)

2006- Gary Gray (Number 3 DB) and Michael Williams (#9 DB)

2007-Jarred Holley (Hearing a lot good things for ND)

CW has done a fine job in the CB recruiting department. Hey, maybe down the road in a few years, we'll be "Corner Back U".

Add Harrison Smith at saftey and we could have one hell of a talented seconary in a couple years

Add Kris Johnston from Texas City, TX in that 2008 class 6'0 corner 4.4
