Football Scoop is reporting that BC is eyeing Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo as its next head coach.

"It is not known at this time whether Niumatalolo would bring the option to Boston College or change his scheme. It’s also not known, should Niumatalolo insist on running the option in Chestnut Hill, if that would be a deal breaker.

Another complicating factor to a potential hire has nothing to do with football.

Boston College is a Catholic school, and Niumatalolo is open about his Mormon faith. In fact, the coach accepted a major volunteer position within the Church of Latter-Day Saints earlier this year. Sources have told FootballScoop that Jarmond has emphasized integrity and a strong faith background in his search for BC’s next head coach, while also stressing that the new coach does not necessarily have to be Catholic. However, a football coaching hire must be approved by university administrators and accepted by the school’s community at large, and so it remains to be seen whether hiring a devout Mormon would be too big a bridge for a Catholic school to cross. Further complicating matters: Niumatalolo is not the only candidate, and in fact may not even be the top candidate.

Sources said Jarmond interviewed another sitting head coach late this week. Sources tell FootballScoop if BC winds up making this hire, everyone in college football would take notice."

Haha! Well, to stir the pot he was in Shrewsbury, Mass., to see Jay Brunelle, an early enrolling wide receiver, yesterday.

Hail Mary full of grace......

You’re an idiot.

Is it possible that Kelly wants to return to Boston?

No way. That wouldn’t be an “if they make this hire...” If it was Kelly, it would be open and shut for BC.

You’re an idiot.

It would be pretty perfect!

It would be pretty perfect!

Perfect to lose the best coach they've had in 30 years to a rival? Again, that's moronic.

I think you mean 40 years since you think Kelly is better then Holtz

He’s not better than Holtz, you’re twisting my words around.

I believe you mean to say the best coach who has proven time and time again that he can't win a big game, gets embarrassed on national TV and who has taken the Irish as far as he can. Kelly and Jack are in bed with each other so the pressure aspect is nonexistent.

But what the hell...let stick with a coach who beats lesser teams and can't beat the teams that would move ND back into respectably.

People are upset that the Irish are ranked #15 and playing a 5 loss team in a meaningless bowl, but in reality this is the bowl ND deserves.

Fire away elder.

If both had to coach in today’s environment, yes.

I am not sure how I twisted anything.

With all the Stanford people in the transfer portal, is it possible that BC is looking at David Shaw?

Bc he’s not better historically than Kelly. However, in today’s college football, I don’t think he’d have as much success. Bear Bryant wouldn’t be successful today either, doesn’t mean he wasn’t a great coach historically.

That would be a drastically better hire than KN.

If I was Ricky Bobby, I’d say the room is spinning on account of gayness between you two... (jbrown & elder)
