Guest JerseyDomer
I feel like Broker with my sticky fingers. grabbed from a long time poster at BG. Rumors of USC commits opening their recruiting back up. He said the 3 names he heard were all ND recruits at one time as well. I know this is just rumor and speculation and could be total horse shit. But if anyone has anything on it or can dig, please share and do- like you wouldn't anyway
dangeruss
He said the 3 names he heard were all ND recruits at one time as well. if this is true my guess would be wilson, tyler and galloppi (sp).
Guest shark83
Interesting Jersey. However, I doubt Chris Gallipo is one of them. His school. Servite, seems to be a pipeline for USC (Already have 2 kids commited in next years class WR D.J. Shoemate, IMO a 5 star, and OL Matt Kalil). I could see Marc Tyler being somewhat of a possibility (Logjam at RB, Maybe wants to still play w/ JC), but I visit USC's scout site every once and awhile and saw Tyler's name mentioned as one of the recruits at a lot of their games. James Wilson could be a possibility because of how high he was on ND before visiting USC, but having his father live out in LA really hurts our chances IMO. I'm sure I can speak for most people when I say, if we played major D1 football we'd like for at least one of our parents to be at most of our games. If I had to rank our chances with these 3, (1-Best chance of decommitting, 3-Worst chance of decommitting, it would probably go: 1.J. Wilson 2. M. Tyler 3. C. Galllipo
NDFan3
Didn't we also offer Michael Reardon?...Even if one of those guys decommitted and we got him, we would be very lucky. Out of those big 3, who do you guys think we need the most? We're in a great position with Donald so do we NEED Galippo?...we may already have Allen in our pocket so do we NEED Tyler?...it seems like we're struggling with OL recruiting so I guess we most NEED Wilson. Guest JerseyDomer
Yeah, Wilson, Tyller and Galippo are the one's I'd assume. I honestly don't think we'll land any of them and really would be shocked if any of them left. like Shark said being there with his father I'd find that hard to believe. Not only would he be leaving USC, but in a way leaving his father. NDFan3, I hear ya on who we need, but when your talkin bout 3 players of their caliber, you could make a point that you need all of them really. All 3 would help and anyone could make a strong case for needed anyone of them. With how our D looks, I'd personally take Galippo out of all of them, you can never have enoughg beasts at lb and we all know we need D. Shit, put Galippo and Donald together-WOW!!!! With the freshman running backs currently with the Irish, and possibly Allen and Hughes looking to join...I feel an offer to Tyler (if he were to de-commit) would dimminish our chances with Allen & Hughes? Tyler is above average...no doubt. But could we be sending mixed messages to the already offered recruits...all the way up and down the line? With that said...I would like to see Wilson as a part of the Irish.
IrishGuy
Wilson is the only one that I could see changing his mind....and even then I am pretty sure he will be playing for USC. Gallipo would be nice, and I believe CW is "still" recruiting him (unless he told him to stop), but he is USC to the bone. Tyler is a great back, and would be huge for ND, but I also believe he is a solid USC commit. Not to mention the academics (he was / is borderline at best). If these 3 are looking elsewhere, I would definitely say that Wilson is in that group.
rdrdreamer
Truthfully I had thought Tyler was going to eventually commit to the Irish...then came the commit to USC. This puzzled me to no end. He has been living with the Clausen family for the past three and a half years. And then you hear how they are more like brothers. Now my feelings and saying this should no way be mis-understood...just because Jimmy commit's to ND, doesn't mean Marc should have immediately followed suit? My point is that with USC recruiting running backs like there's no tomorrow, I would have thought Tyler would have enjoyed a more personal atmoshpere at South Bend? I too would like to see Tyler in our backfield...but do you feel we can still secure Armando and Robert as well?
Guest shark83
Maybe the front page of the US Army's Scout website could give some truth to the Marc Tyler rumors. I'll just chalk this one up as a typo (Just read the paragraph where it mentions ND commits in the game). http://usarmy.scout.com/
dangeruss
For the first time, Justin Trattou will team up with fellow All-Americans and Notre Dame commits (Marc Tyler and Aaron Nagel) and Matt Simms will meet up with future opponents before he becomes a Louisville Cardinal. if you read carefully it says that justin trattou will line up against fellow All-Americans (refering to marc tyler, who is an AA as is trattou) and ND commits (refering to aaron nagel who is a ND commit also playing in the AA game). Guest ctj
I don't think it is trying to say that dangruss. I think they meant to put Clausen and Nagel as other AA. The way it is written means both commits and AAs. I was going to post this but I thought they put Tyler instead of Clausen and didn't want to get hopes up or anything

Guest ctj
Danger- Read it again. It says commitS, not commit. They are refering to Tyler as a commitment
FLO31
i agree with ctj here... its obvious what they're saying, but i just think they put tyler instead of clausen...
Shakko
ESPN also referred to Claussen as a USC commit in its promo for his high-school game. I wouldn't read too much into someone's incompetence.
rdrdreamer
I do not know either way about the possibility of Tyler, Wilson or Galippo being mentioned as de-commit's? But what they (fore mentioned players)may not have taken into consideration is that the television network ABC, which was to USC what NBC is for Notre Dame, decided to open up to conferences other than juct the PAC 10. USC is no longer guaranteed a place on TV each week. Sure they will be a back up based on the region they play in...but they are no longer able to say they will be for sure. This of course is reaching...and by no means am I attempting to fuel the rumor mill...just saying!
