I was just about to post that one, very good news. I know we are stacked at WR, but Rhema has really been getting it done on the field so far this year. Seems to be going about this season like a pro. Aside from that, I want to see him move on to the next level as a star.

Sorry Santchy you got the all the next ones. Jees Coach built up Mich State more then loudmouthd smith

This sounds very, very sketchy. "A slight procedure" was done? He couldn't be more specific? Anything that concerns a wide receiver (or lineman), a knee, and a procedure (ie knife) is not slight.

I feel confident in saying Rhema tore his ACL (maybe other ligaments and tendons additionally in his knee) and should be sat down for the season. Having torn my own ACL I can see it a mile away and I knew even before the first replay. ND should apply for a medical redshirt and we should try to get by this season without him. We have decent depth at wideout this year, no reason to rush Rhema back.

There have been some advancements in less traditional therapy regarding ACLs. Using electron therapy to stimulate regrowth of a torn ligament is one of these. If Rhema did do something like this he'll be able to return faster, but who knows when he might be back and how reliable his knee will be.

It is one of the medical areas you can't keep up with. It's so rapid and some new announcements are really way down the road. I'd guess in old days they would drain a knee. I saw on TV leeches are now OK with the medical profession. Provide drainage and some sort of numbing and healing aspect. I do recall 50's here going down town with my Dad and barbers had leeces in jars then. I asked why and my dad said "It's to suck out bad blood etc from black eyes." Kinda before AMA and all that.

Well, I am no doctor, so I can't say for certain whether Rhema tore his ACL. It just looked really, really familiar. Add that into Charlie being all mysterious like with a "slight procedure" and nobody is willing to say what exactly happened to the knee.

It all seems very shady. If I were Rhema and the ACL really is torn, I don't risk it. Especially if I could get a medical redshirt. I've heard of different players who have had to play on torn ACLs (it is possible) with knee braces, but you could do some serious damage if you get hit the wrong way.

I just hope they're able to come out and tell us what exactly happened.

I agree with you Bluester...I do feel as though the "status " of Rhema is not all that clear...by the way Bluester..are you gonna be in town for the game Sat? GO IRISH

I don't think anything shady here. Coach is always closed mouthed and it does make the other team have to prepare maybe for RM after a week.

I don't think ND will push him against med advice, not quite "friday night lights" here.. Just best to down play everything avoid "rumors" and move on. I did see some ND "panic" talk among fans with the injury. Plug and play next guy, no disrespect to RM at all. There are no stars on a TEAM.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, my brother is getting married Saturday, therefore I will not be at the MSU game, nor will I be able to watch the MSU. Additionally, I will need to hear the girlfriend complain about how I am making her miss Charlie's debut. I will be TIVOing the game for certain. I will be West Lafayette (The Little Fairy!!!) for the Purdo'h game, and every game in SB the rest of the season. That's right after the Washington game I will be missing 1 game (Stanford) all season!!! Whoop Whoop.

I agree the Charlie does come from the BP/BB school of injury reporting. The NFL requires these guys to do an injury report and they each have been fined several times for misleading the other team with bad information. Teams still have to prepare for RM, which means they have less time to prepare for MS, JS, MS, and the TEs. I agree to a certain point.

Then again, what exactly is a "slight procedure." My guess is that it was a scope. They did the MRI, it either wasn't clear or didn't look good. I wouldn't want them cutting into a guys knee for a scope if the MRI wasn't clear. I'd say, do another MRI, and another, and another. If everything in the knee looked fine (ie a sprain, strain, etc) then there's no reason to do a procedure. So presumably RM is probably pretty hurt, and this seems like some strategy from CW.

As with pretty much every aspect of this season, we'll just have to take a "wait and see" approach. I agree that if the injury is indeed serious, RM should apply for a medical red-shirt. But on the other hand, as much as CW likes to keep a lid on things, I truly don't believe he would do anything that would be a detrement to RM's career. If he indeed has a torn ACL, I think CW would state it like it is and move on, and certainly not make him play injured.

Bluester, I too shall be at the Purdon't game. Unfortunately, it's the only game I have tickets for........yet.
