Here's the cut and dried difference between how ND and Florida. At ND players are suspended and summarily dismissed for violations such as shoplifting. At Florida, new coach and all, players get suspended but even if their are charged with felony fraud, they are allowed back on the team. It's called SEC justice!

What a joke Mullen's quote is.

Florida welcomes back 4 players

Running back Jordan Scarlett and three other Florida players suspended last season amid felony fraud charges have rejoined team activities.

School officials confirmed the return of the players Tuesday to The Associated Press.

"All of our players understand the standards and expectations we have of them to be members of the Florida football program," Florida coach Dan Mullen said in a statement.

Receiver Rick Wells and linebackers James Houston and Ventrell Miller also are enrolled in school and expected to take part in team workouts Wednesday.

all this statement tells me is that the players have no incentive to fallow the rules. if you can commit a felony and still play football then where is the line.

I dont buy the SEC in inherently corrupt. How many chances did stepherson get? Discipline is always gonna be based on need and talent.

Maybe....but since we all follow ND Football like a hawk....we are much more aware of every transgression the players commit.

I would think that rules violations in the SEC are not a widely reported because very few players are ever suspended.

I truly believe the Players at ND are held to a much higher standard then their brethren down south. Except maybe Jameis Winston.

Can't argue with that. But it feels hypocritical to me to point a finger at other schools when we have as many problems as we have

Does everything at ND get reported? What did tiassum do to get suspend alongside multi- rule violator stepherson? He either had to do something really bad or broke the rule several times.

Maybe in the past and perhaps in the future but under BK things got a little loose. I think we both can agree on that.

Agreed.

I thought Redfield got one chance too many....simply because he was in a leadership position and continued to offend.... not quite the same with Stepherson., who was just given too many chances.

But, Coney was in the same car as Both of these guys and was given the second chance which I am happy about...because it did work out well.

Tiassum was probably too many.....team rules violations (pure speculation).... rather than a criminal violation.

All in all BK had too many issues over his tenure to deal with....

Not sure how you are comparing stepherson's case to the SEC cases... especially the felony ones. No one is saying ND is perfect, but they still discipline the students accordingly... the SEC, not so much.

Fixed it for you.

I'm not comparing. It would be silly to compare one player at one school to a conference of 14 teams. Who does that?

Are you now the discipline accordingly police?

At ND you can get 3 DUI's and not miss a game.

Fight a police officer while drunk gets you one game.

Fail at least 2 drug test and miss 2 games.

God only knows what you have to do to miss 4 games, yet you guys would have a fit if a kid in the SEC jaywalks and not get kicked off the team.

the SEC, not so much.

You're gonna have to show me proof of all these felonies at SEC schools that go unpunished or they don't exist. Generalization and hyperbole has gotten out of hand on this board.

Being from ohio I've watched OSU turn their heads while players receive gifts.

I saw PSU and now MSU allow sexual misconduct to run rampant. So forgive me for feeling that this whole SEC is dirty and will do anything to win is just old, tired and quite frankly, lazy.

Didnt Michael Floyd get 3 DUIs and Tommy Rees attack a cop?

Rees' incident is pretty much the same as Mayfield's. No excuse for continuing to let Floyd slide with no suspension.
