January 16, 20187 yr Had previously said that he would be moving on after graduation.

Jonathan's an awesome kid. He could’ve moved on with his degree from ND, but he decided to return to further his education and help us work toward a national championship. Jonathan's made great strides on the field and I’m excited to see him rewarded for those efforts.
— Brian Kelly (@CoachBrianKelly) January 16, 2018

January 16, 20187 yr Kapron Lewis Moore ended up playing alot in 2012. Jon brings alot of game experience back to the fold. I can see ND's strategy. If we couldn't bring recruits in right now, re-recruit the guys with the traits with eligibility left.

In terms of understanding Jonathan Bonner’s impact in returning, according to PFF, Bonner rated 10th among the 19 Irish defensive players who logged at least 200 snaps, between No. 9 Troy Pride and No. 11 Daelin Hayes.
— Irish Illustrated (@PeteSampson_) January 16, 2018
Edited January 16, 20187 yr by FaithInIrishForever
January 16, 20187 yr Never hurts to bring back another big body, he's gonna be even bigger with another year with the strength program. Depth at d line is huge, great news!
January 16, 20187 yr I wonder if this is due to taylor leaving and now they have an xtra schollie or need another body. Maybe someone else is leaving. It's something to watch.
January 17, 20187 yr What an odd thing to post. **** off. Fake exuberance over a player who looked like he belonged in the MAC all season long because he’s returning after saying he didn’t want to?
January 17, 20187 yr **** off. Fake exuberance over a player who looked like he belonged in the MAC all season long because he’s returning after saying he didn’t want to? hahahahahahahah Take it easy guy, Bonner started all year. Good to keep guys like that.
January 17, 20187 yr **** off. Fake exuberance over a player who looked like he belonged in the MAC all season long because he’s returning after saying he didn’t want to? That's a lot of anger
January 17, 20187 yr **** off. Fake exuberance over a player who looked like he belonged in the MAC all season long because he’s returning after saying he didn’t want to? He had 30 tackles and two or three sacks.thats not bad for a 1 technique. But do me a favor, and get mad...
January 17, 20187 yr **** off. Fake exuberance over a player who looked like he belonged in the MAC all season long because he’s returning after saying he didn’t want to? No fake exuberance here. I wish there were better, more talented options, but there doesn't seem to be. He was an average power 5 starter at his position this year and that's coming from a guy that thought he'd be the worst player on the entire defense coming into the season. Also, supposedly the reason he didn't want to come back was because one of his parents was recently diagnosed with cancer. Maybe something changed, maybe they told him to play, I don't know.
January 17, 20187 yr **** off. Fake exuberance over a player who looked like he belonged in the MAC all season long because he’s returning after saying he didn’t want to? You don't have a clue about football. He ranked 10th on our defense of 19 qualified players who played enough minutes according to pro football focus. A guy they ranked him ahead of was one Daelin Hayes. Bonner was very solid and should be even better next year. Plus it helps depth if he gets passed. Solid addition to the team here
Just got a notification from ND Insider. Huge
