Here is a different way of thinking about things. My mind thinks outside the box when I'm snowed in

Basically nobody orchestrated this but this is what happened.

Mike Elko leaves Houston Griffith and Braden Lenzy come

Jimbo leaving FSU caused a fallout that helped us with both recruits(Griffith directly from FSU, Lenzy from Oregon as Taggert was hired to replace Fisher at FSU)

The Net result of the impact of the Fisher Effect will have a interesting impact on how we remember the off-season.

Thoughts?

its fascinating how one domino falling could affect 3 different people from different parts of the country. but when all is said and done I think ND came out on top for at least this one season. clark lea seems like a good hire by ND to replace elko and ND added two talented players as well.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. Lenzy doesn't get me excited. Im happy about griffith but given the choice of him or elko. I go with elko.

I think it will be interesting to see also if we share recruiting targets in Texas in the future(same system) how Lea vs Elko pans out.

Davis I have to say Lenzy has Will Fuller mystique to me.

He jumped out at me last year at this time. I've been wrong before. I like that Griffith dad was an NFL fullback. Full backs are alot like Lineman. Team-builders and leaders.

Really hope he got that trait from his dad.

Eh, I look at this way. It’s very likely Elko was only gonna be here one more year and then land a HC job somewhere. I’ll take the top 100 prospect for 3+ years over the DC that’s likely gone before the player is gone.

That's fair but i'm a bird in hand type of guy. Elko is proven while Houston is a prospect. who knows when he's ready to contribute in a big way if ever. Our offense concerns me next year and elko returning with and experienced group could really help us out as we figure out who our play makers on offense will be. Lea is like every other coach, he may employ the same scheme but it's gonna have his own touches inserted. Will the magic still be there?

I could be wrong Davis, but after watching Lenzy’s videos, that kid plays with heart, unlike the soft one who just left for the NFL.. I’m happy to have him!!

Well Elko is NO bird in the hand:noidea: Houston is.

Elko breaks his contract with ND. Then he and Kelly agrees to the second contract with a pay raise and a hand shake. While the contract is being drawn up he breaks his word again for more money from A&M. I am very proud of Kelly for letting him go.

From this day forward everyone knows that Elko does not keep his given word.

This might be the first post I've ever agreed with you on.

Elko can go **** in the wind.
