Can we make that required to read for all new people before they can start posting. It would make for a better all around board

HandJack will intentionally ignore this

Being in NW Ohio. I’ve, heard of that story about Urban many times. Blame his wife for him not taking the ND job.

Well it didn't work out so well for her in Florida-wonder if she regrets that stance...

great read

I agree with the meyer/saban story or whoever else people think can come in and make ND the next Alabama. under the ND enrollment/education restrictions it would be very difficult.

Then he's a pssy. If she had a real job and made $, she should get a say, but if you're the sole owner and paying the bills, what you want matters more.

Last, time I checked the cities around South Bend aren’t that bad of a place to live. Though, tbh Columbus is the same way, except a richer area.

It's not that bad. I can see Cbus being more desirable bc Upper Arlington is a great suburban community just a stone's throw from Campus. However, to have your wife just flat out veto what was your "dream job" when you're the only bread winner? That lacks balls.

Also ND's Campus>>>>>OSU's Campus.

I'm guessing your not married huh? Haha

Haha was thinking the same thing. Urban doesnt own his wife.

I'd say the same thing if the roles were reversed. It rubs me the wrong way knowing he's the sole provider financially, and she just stomped on his dream like that? I hope that story is a bit of a hyperbole.

I would think there is some poetic license in there. If he is willing to honor his wife by not taking a position somewhere, I suspect she would honor his choice to coach at ND if it really was his dream job.

Thank God this isn't Tennessee, otherwise Urban's wife would have gotten death threats as soon as word got out she torpedoed the deal.

Having two daughters (and a son), there is no way that I would support allowing their future husbands to arbitrarily dictate the city they live in just because the husbands are the ones with a job outside the house.

I know five guys that forced their families to move without really giving their spouse any input and their wives all divorced them.

It is a matter of priorities. There is always another job. There is not always another wife or family.
