Posted January 10, 20187 yr Not sure if posted. Word is Jacob Eason was interested in ND before transferring to WA. ND reportedly was not interested. Mixed feelings on this, a proven QB is a pro for 2018 season. However, may be injury prone and does not fit the System.
January 10, 20187 yr Turning down a 5 star qb is not the wisest decision. It is if it’s in line with keeping your word to the other quarterbacks you did recruit.
January 10, 20187 yr haha wow, I was seriously going to post this in another thread...that would be funny if Eason transferred to ND
January 10, 20187 yr It is if it’s in line with keeping your word to the other quarterbacks you did recruit. Well are the qbs we recruited scared of competition? I think competition brings out the best in guys, if he beats out a guy and he transfers so be it.

Guys there's a difference between what a player is and what we think he is. Jacob Eason in 2016 was a 55 percent passer for 2430 yards 16 TD and 8 INT he was also a -45 runner and 1 TD

January 10, 20187 yr Also was a true freshman. Then I come back to Wimbush 49 percent, yes but 16 TD 6 Interceptions 1870 passing and 803 rushing. We're comparing virtually the same player we already have
January 10, 20187 yr Getting Eason makes very little sense imo. He's less mobile than Crist was and that didn't exactly work out well.
January 10, 20187 yr He's less mobile than Crist was and that didn't exactly work out well. Yep. Production wise gives less total then Wimbush right now. Then he'd affect future recruiting because he's a nomal transfer and must sit a year. I just don't see the net gain, except the emotional reaction he's from the runner up team he must be good. Think you'd lose a QB in recruiting(5 is alot)

We're comparing virtually the same player we already have Wimbush was in his 3rd year and was under 50 percent. Players usually get better as they get experience. I don't think these guys are anything alike at all.

Have a great day. For me to continue this, Coach Long would need to be there for 3 years, which we know he hasn't. So Eason is better because he was on Georgia and a 5 star recruit. I get your point, just don't agree with it

I don't care if you're learning a new offense. You should still be able to throw the damn ball accurately; or at the minimum, know how to throw a damn WR screen properly Also, he was regressing as the year went on

But the more attractive fan solution is to fly in a band-aid from Georgia to make it all go away. Whatever you want guys. I'll focus on the players on the roster.

I never said I wanted Eason...I'm just stating facts: Eason was a TRUE FRESHMAN. Wimbush is a third-year And a fat lot of good Wimbush's legs did when defenses started to key in and completely loaded up on the run. Our rushing attack (along with Wimbush's rushing) completely disappeared I'd rather have a guy that is a threat to complete a pass, which opens up things for the run

Let him play.
January 10, 20187 yr If we were in a situation being stuck with Tommy Reese for 3 years - show him the red carpet. But we have quality QB's and a near 5 star coming in. His coming would all but guarantee someone else leaving and Kelly won't go there. I'd rather make room for a DL or OL if they are high quality at this point.
