Declared for the draft

Featured Replies

looks like the all time rushing record is safe.

the good news is that dexter Williams will be our starting RB and they will have to play him.

Another expected loss for ND. Best of luck to Josh.

From everything we get to see as fans, he is a great person!

His 40 will surprise people. 3rd or 4th round.

Dex. Time to show the world what you got.

Now that Dex will be featured more hopefully he works on the pass blocking.

With that said, I think ND can find a way around that with Tony Jones' help. That's a nice little combo, and assuming Holmes is not stuck in the doghouse he has a chance to be the third guy.

Will he be though? This staff seems enamored with Tony Jones

True football purgatory would be Stepherson not getting kicked off the team only to ride the bench with Dex next year...

I have no idea why. all I heard before the season was how talented TJ was and he's got great speed and he's real good at catching passes out of the backfield (he was maybe the one player I really wanted to see this year, based on all the hype). then the season started and he's looked like an average RB, just seemed like the coaching staff was trying to force feed the offense TJ in hopes that he would take off at some point and he never really did. by mid season deon McIntosh was the clear cut #3 RB on the team.

I do think injuries play a pretty big role in that.

With that said, we can't have it both ways. As ND fans we have been calling for more running and also less rotation for the RBs. I don't think the staff wanted Adams off the field...and for good reason.

At the same, Dex should have been in the game at least a little bit more (but again, I do think injuries played a role). When healthy, he looked strong. When banged up, he looked a lot different.

Tony Jones should be a downhill, smash mouth back with his frame. But he plays like he is confused about his role as a player. Kind of like a dog who thinks he is a cat.

And then we try pass the ball 30 yards down the field to him, wtf...

For as big as he is, he’s definitely a versatile athlete and can play the slot.

Kelly stated he could see time there with Stepherson, Mack and Claypool out

Anybody with a pulse could play the slot if the 3 guys ahead of you on the depth chart are out.

Nothing I have seen from him says wow, he can make a play. He has no burst, doesn't have great moves and is just a meh kinda guy. Dex must have been a very bold boy to be behind him.

Dexter Williams was one carry short of being eligible to lead CFB in yards per carry. I know he carried an injury for portions of the season but he was healthy against LSU.

I'm not talking about Jones the RB. This has nothing do with Dex being behind him. Jones is a very good pass catching RB though.

And the walls.... keep tumbling down

Wouldn't surprise me the least bit if this ends up happening.

Adams leaving was pretty much expected, why are you upset about this one?

Staying would have been moronic for josh---he takes a beating with that running style, he had a flashy noteworthy season....

running backs are not a treasured asset anymore in the NFL---so he needed to go when he WILL GET a decent draft . Probably NOT in the first 100 to go but soon afterward...

Exciting player who should make some good money with his talents

aloha

Best of luck to Josh. Great representative of the university. Wish him nothing but the Best!

Yeah, there was zero chance he returned and frankly, he made the smart choice.

Will he stay healthy?

Who knows, but ND has two solid RBs behind him.
