Give me the players and coaches who are hungry to play and coach at Notre Dame. I don't care what their star ratings or how many people are calling them a genius.

Its a privilege to play and coach for ND. Its worth the one hand catches, a few bucks less, high scrutiny.

We're not a one and done fan base. ND fans know the ups and downs and go on a yearly journey.

This too shall pass, but one thing won't change, WE BLEED BLUE AND GOLD!

GO IRISH!

I get what you're saying but the proof is in the pudding. Championship (elite) teams are a mix of expert coaching, great recruiting, and the highest star players. It's just that simple and proven. Everyone loves the "little guys" that are the "exception to the rule" (see Miracle On Ice) but it is what it is nowadays.

Who says this was about logic:) Its about mind over matter, getting people through a tough moment.

I'll return to logic in the days to follow when candidates emerge. But this ones pure motivation from me.

Nice call on the speech though.

I have to disagree. It would be nice to have talent and heart, but if it comes down to it, I choose talent every time

At this point, I’ll buy into the positivity. Good going, Faith.

ND has been around far longer than any coach, player, or administration. To quote Jaylon Smith: “As long as the golden dome is still there, I’m not going anywhere.”

And then there's a great talent, like Stepherson, who squanders it because he lacks heart.

And then there's a great talent, like Stepherson, who squanders it because he lacks heart.

And there's guys like Randy Moss who were lazy but still dominated. Ideally, you want both, but I don't buy into this bs that heart beats talent unless talent really DGAF.

Can't have all 5 stars you need some 4's and 3's in the mix. Need thoughts behind the scene guys that donate but don't care about credit...

Example Michael Jordan and Pipen 5stars the rest of the team solid roll players....6 championship

Lol we survived bvg. Well be fine, we have talent. There are some good young players on the boundary. Need Coney and tillery to come back more than ever though.

But it took 4-8 to "survive" hopefully we don't go back in that direction. If Kelly doesn't make a home run hire like he did last year it will set us back.

At this point it's year 9 for Kelly, he can't have many years left here whether it's by his own choosing or not. I just find it hard to believe he's going to bring in another d coordinator and change everything up again on that side of the ball. Thats why i think itll be Elston or maybe lea. But my money is on Elston and thats a step back imo

Elston is 2 steps back imo. We need a guy who isn't a "Kelly" guy. If we stay in house I'm ok with Lea, but would prefer an outside guy , and someone who will run his own scheme, not what Kelly want. Elston is a puppet. Nice guy, but not a D coordinator.
