I didn't see Polian land Manti Teo 2.0 this year so for me I think you have to look at the job he's doing as special teams coach.

A snap gets by their punter and this guy had forever to get rid of the ball. I don't get it.Their returner fumbles 2 punts and again we are nowhere in sight.

On the flip side our guys are surrounded by the other team and always forced to fair catch.

Now since returning has been a problem under several st coaches, is it BK not allowing better players on the st units?

I hope kelly isn't celebrating this victory to the point he's overlooking the problem areas.

Careful, you may be called out for complaining about Polian. Anyways..I do believe it to be both. I remember when I played highschool I was a return guy and coach would at times just put the fair catch on. That would happen against quality opponents at times. Just playing it safe and trusting the defense. But I do think we have a fundemental flaw. Most teams will send at least one guy in case something like yesterday happens. ND doesn’t. You can see at times that our guys just engaged and hold their guys. Maybe BK’s afraid giving the other team a first down from a penalty, maybe he doesn’t feel he has the right guys on ST’s(coaches fault), maybe he trusts the defense and offense to do its job, I really don’t know. I do know that championship teams focus on all three aspects of football, offense, defense, and special teams. We lack every year in the latter category.

You do realize not recovering a wet ball off a bounce isn't a reflection of bad STs? Finke was the one who f'd up when he literally dragged Robertson away from recovering the punt that hit him.

I'm not thrilled with the Punt Return/Fair Catch, but outside of that they've been ok. Nothing great, but not a hindrance. There's far large issues that have much more of a material impact.

Here we go again...So it’s Finke’s fault for yelling Peter or whatever their code word is for get the hell away from the ball? Finke did his job. It was the guy staying with his block’s fault.

Clearly, I’m not the only one who sees faults with our special teams. It’s been going on for quite awhile. Even you just said it’s”nothing great.”

Part of being a special teams coach is getting guys pumped up and ready to roll when their number is called. Which, besides Yoon being clutch from 40 yards in, is the only other attribute I can say is good with this team. We’re above average on KO returns, poor on punt returns, poor on field goal blocks, poor on punt blocks, average on being able to kick the ball into the end zone(usually 5 yards short-maybe by design, I don’t know), average punt net average.

If I hard marks like that at my job I would be fired.

As I said, there’s three phases to a football team to be a championship team. We lack one tremendously. Imagine if we got a kickoff return or punt return or blocked a kick for a td against Georgia. These are game changers. Yet, we are satisfied with average play. They can get a pass for the rain but not for the whole season. And as I pointed out along with Davis now, that muffed punt that bounced away from the guy and was able to track down and not only was able to get it off, but was able to get off a decent one at that. I’m not ok with that and neither should you.

I'm not happy with Punt Return, said that many times. I don't think there's anything wrong with the Kick or Punt Cvg. Kick Return is ok, but most of the time, Kicks aren't returnable.

lol Robertson got chewed the eff out. "WAKE THE F**K UP!!!" You don't need to be an expert lip reader to know what Kelly said lol

That was 0% Finke's fault. Kelly yelled at the one responsible, and deservedly so.
