Depends on who would take the job. There's a few guys I think would do very well at ND, but they'd be gone the second they win anything of note. I've never believed you could just fire Kelly and replace him with anyone.

I had fun this year.

 

I'd be more interest in finding new fans to replace all these stupid trolls.

If Coney and tillery come back, the defense has a chance to be special with Elko next year.

 

And while I agree his track record doesn’t exude confidence, but if kelly can get solid quarterback play, 2018 might be a special season.

 

Now we’ve had a full year of Balis. I think we all agree we saw results in a short amount of time (look at coneys transformation).

 

If next year is a disappointment, we have another year to look at: Dan Mullen (unlikely considering his new job and $6M salary), Charlie Strong, Kevin Sumlin, PJ Fleck and Herm Edwards (just kidding, asu’s a joke) and maybe Rich Rodriguez (ok now you know I’m fu(king around).

I'd bet that Urban hangs it up in Columbus when Brian Kelly moves on from here.. Urban to SB sometime before 2022, heh.

If you are happy with ND losing 3 or more games 7 out of 8 years including the last 5 years in a row, being ranked every other year and in the Top 10 once every four years, Brian Kelly is your type of coach and there is no reason to want someone different.

 

I am not sure that ND can find a better coach but I would rather that ND try to find someone who can improve on Kelly's average of 8.6 wins and 4.3 losses a year.

I think ND can do better than Kelly but TPTB are content so it won't happen until his contract expires or he chooses to retire, maybe a combination of both.

Before the season, if you'd offered me 10-3 with a NYD bowl win over an SEC team, I'd have jumped at it. Really, the Miami debacle is the only game that I was truly disappointed. Yes, Stanford was winnable, and yes we didn't look great all the time, but that is what I expected coming into this season.

Its going to be really tough to win 10 games next year with the schedule we have. It is brutal.
