January 2, 20187 yr Miles Boykin's catch and run ranks with any in ND history. He looked like Terrell Owens. Fabulous.
January 2, 20187 yr For knocking in some tough field goals in shiddy conditions Mr Yoon, this ones 4 U Agreed, Yoon was clutch from 40+ and crappy conditions. Couldn't have done it without his leg.
January 2, 20187 yr Miles Boykin's catch and run ranks with any in ND history. He looked like Terrell Owens. Fabulous. Great comparison! He has very similar size as Owens too. Owens struggled with catching with the Niners in his first year. Maybe this is sign!
January 2, 20187 yr I am extremely impressed by "the catch"... but we don't win without the clutch kicking in weather by Yoon San! No doubt.
January 2, 20187 yr -yoon was clutch with his two FGs -boykin made two huge grabs in the 4th quarter. the catch on the sideline on 3rd and 19 to set up NDs 1st TD and his game winner. -also how huge was NDs two goalline stands LSU should have had 14 points but only came away with 3.

January 2, 20187 yr THE DEFENSE THO GUYS!!! The first TD came after the muffed punt where defense had to go right back on field. Were benefited by two missed FGs but also made TWO HUGE goaline/redzone stops that left LSU with NO POINTS.
January 2, 20187 yr I agree with all of the above. Defense was amazing, oh that catch!, and yooooooonnnnn.... I think Brian Kelly should get some hidden-hero credit also. Personally, I thought it was pretty ballsy that Kelly switched to Book. If he doesn’t make that change, we lose. Book had a remarkable second-half with 165 yds and 2 TDs. The announcers didn’t seem to agree with the change nor did I at first – but it was the right one and paid off. What a fun season especially when comparing to last season. So much fun to have 10 wins and a major bowl victory
January 2, 20187 yr Couldn't agree more about Yoon. I also agree - credit needs to be given to BK for making the switch. Does this lock Phil in for starter next year? Should we start the Wimbush transfer rumors now? NO!!! LET'S ENJOY THIS WIN!!

Long/Kelly made a much-needed in-game switch. They knew they would be skewered had it not gone well. It seems like Kelly was praising Wimbush before the game to pump his confidence up, but making that switch in the second quarter makes me think that there was a plan all along to do that if Wimbush faltered early.

Boykin showed he shouold have been on the field a lot more during the season, but his catch was the best of the the bowl season -- trust me -- I watched pretty much every game -- and his WAS the best! Never thought BK would switch QBs like that but I think it sends a message to Wimbush that things better start to click fully if he is to be the guy.

Imagine him having 2 years with the kids.

So much fun to have 10 wins and a major bowl victory I was glad BK switched to book. it was clear that BW wasn't going to complete very many passes and I'd rather take a risk on the QB that is mobile enough and can pass the ball on time. also when ND went up 21-17 late in the game and kicked off short I was very pleased that ND was able to cover the kickoff and not let him get the corner and start the possession at mid field.
January 2, 20187 yr Brian Kelly joins Lou Holtz, Ara Parseghian and Knute Rockne as the only @NDFootball coaches with three 10-win seasons. This accomplishment definitely deserves an asterisk for Kelly since he had at least one extra game each year over the other ND coaches who achieved it. Just the fact that Frank Leahy is not on that list indicates that it a somewhat dubious achievement. Leahy missed it since he only played 9 or 10 games a season not 13 like Kelly. For what's it's worth, Leahy did have 7 of 11 years with only 1 or fewer losses. Rockne (played an average of 9.4 games a year - 9.7 if you exclude his first year with 6 games) 1921 10-1 1924 10-0 1930 10-0 Leahy (Played an average of 9.7 games a year) 1943 9-1 1947 9-0 1948 9-0-1 1949 10-0 1953 9-0-1 Ara (played an average of 10.5 games a year) 1970 10-1 1973 11-0 1974 10-2 Holtz (played an average of 12 games a year) 1988 12-0 1989 12-1 1991 10-3 1992 10-1-1 1993 11-1 Kelly (played an average of 12.9 games a year) 2012 12-1 2015 10-3 2017 10-3
January 3, 20187 yr Author THE DEFENSE THO GUYS!!! The first TD came after the muffed punt where defense had to go right back on field. Were benefited by two missed FGs but also made TWO HUGE goaline/redzone stops that left LSU with NO POINTS. I see a sh1t load of LSU fans on social media getting pissy about “not going for it” in the end zone. Hindsight’s a bitch. But in all practicality, the ND defense was a stonewall on that line & a 4th down wasnt a guaranteed 6 pts. I was damned proud of that D
January 3, 20187 yr FYI, Justin Yoon is Korean-American, not Japanese Lol... well thanks for clarifying. No disrespect meant. But I appreciate your effort to correct me on such trivia.
