I saw this mentioned on the TV and it was surprising. this was Notre Dame's first bowl win in January since 1994.

24 years.. unreal

But, i’m a cubs fan, so....yeah

I thought we would lose this game. I’m glad I was wrong.

Great win and great effort!

Very happy for the boys and it’s great to stop the big bowl losing skid.

Go Irish!

First January 1 bowl.win in a while but this isnt officially a new years 6 bowl right?

From its wiki page:

Since becoming one of the premier bowls, the Citrus Bowl is typically played at 1 p.m.*ESTon*New Year's Day, immediately before theRose Bowl, both of which have been televised on*ESPN*since 2011. When January 1 is a Sunday, the game has been played on January 2 or December 31, to avoid conflicting with the*National Football League*schedule. As of 2015, at $4.25 million per team,[3]*it has the largest payout of all the non-College Football Playoff*(CFP) bowls. In nearly every year since 1985, the game has featured two teams ranked in the*Top 25.

So yeah, it's a premier bowl. A big bowl. A major bowl . Whatever we want to call it, it counts as one. Great win and I couldn't be happier

No it's not but it's the next best thing.

You're right GI, the NY6 bowls are Rose, Sugar, Orange, Cotton, Peach, and Fiesta.

New Year Six Bowls:

Rose

Sugar

Peach

Orange

Cotton

Fiesta

This is still a quality win, I would consider Citrus the unofficial 7th to be honest, and that is not just the domer fan in me saying that.

Definitely a big win, but not a new years 6 bowl. Just clarifying
