Because Adams is the Starter and Long does not Rotate like Kelly did. We complained about the backs not breaking a sweat before, can't have it both ways.

I think though faith that the fans all season long have been saying Adams has been worn down, they rode that horse hard and he’s been gimpy and slow. To the point of being too slow at times and unable to hit holes quickly.

Here comes fresh legs dexter slashing and cutting and not committing the cardinal sin of trying to bounce everything outside (or fumbling) and then he’s gone for tony jones ...

It’s perplexing. He’s by far the quickest running back. Against good defenses, you need quicker backs.

When he is in, he looks like a 1st-2nd rd runner. Kid looks like the real deal while he's out there.

I hope Adams goes Pro just so Williams can get the carries he deserves.

IMO, Dexter is, by far, the best pure runner on the team. He is so much quicker to the line of scrimmage, that it's not even funny. Dexter totally should be the go to back against the quicker hitting defenses....

He came out, because he missed a block that ended up as a sack. Enter stubborn, BK...

One of BK's BIGGEST downfalls is his personnel decisions, and IMO, this is one of his biggest ones. It's absolutely insane that he didn't carry the rock more this year.

Sadly everyone in my house feels the same way.

I agree he deserves more carries, but but 3-4 years ago we rotated backs every drive and people wanted a Workhorse.

Give us a workhorse and we want a Rotation.

Its just hard.

I don't think it's hard at all. There were so many games where Adams looked incredibly slow to the lOS, and Dex would come in for one play and explode...and then sit. The coaches...BK, Long, Denson, did the offense, and Dex a HUGE disservice this year.

Are you saying that Kelly took him Out? Who runs the offense?

I was pretty big on mcintosh, this season, too. He ripped several times

Yes, I am saying BK took him out. There was a small glimpse of him giving it to Dex on the sideline. BK has zero tolerance for Dex. He's made that loud and clear this year.

Kelly is a guy who decides on a system for reps and then sticks to it. His system coming in was a rotation, now its a starter relief type system.

I don't know too many pass plays where Dexter is in.

Hopefully he commits to being a complete back(pass protection, pass catching, stays in good standing) and gets in more.

I'm not disagreeing but Dexter has to continue to evolve and mature.

Adams deserves the bulk of the carries, but the head scratcher is why is Tony Jones #2 it seems? He is not even close to Dex.

I agree...but it's absolutely ridiculous that they didn't give him a chance. Good coaches find ways to utilize everyone's strengths....Dexter's strength, right now, is with the ball in his hands...Give the boy some confidence, and he'll most likely grow in all aspects too!

Another aspect is the no huddle, if you want to play really fast you can't substitute, so whoever starts the drive finishes it.

So say if it gets to 3rd and 5, they a blitz and the RB needs to go get him. Kelly's patterns showed that was Adams or Jones Jr.

I'm not trying to disagree just trying to analyze all aspects.

Bottom line...You have to play your playmakers. Dex IS a TRUE playmaker and he really didn't see the field this year. IMO, there are absolutely no excuses for it.

As long as playing a playmaker doesn't risk other playmakers. Miss a Blitz and the QB hopefully picks himself up.

Pick up those details, become that star. We know its in him.

I’m fine with one guy but Adams needed a breather occasionally. Most could see when Adams was winded. But instead of Williams it’s Jones. Then it was McIntosh. I guess Williams was injured a little bit too. So maybe that’s why he didn’t get the carries.

When your workhouse can't hold up you absolutely need to spell him and rotate a new pair of legs in. I know Dexter was hobbled midway through the season, but when he was healthy it was criminal that he wasn't used more often. You don't leave your playmakers on the bench, you create plays to get talent like that on the field. For gosh sake why the hell couldnt we throw full house backfield out there? Adams, Wimbush, Dex, Mack or Claypool and Smythe at TE, with ESB wide. It would be a thing of beauty and would be effective as hell to boot. That's a march it down the field and beat the **** out of a opposing defense, eat up the clock, and keep your D rested on the sidelines.

It's hard to argue a player on this team whose made the most of the opportunities given to him and producing, begging for more touches and should've earned them, then Dex. Was it his first game back against WF? Anyway he had I think one touch and rattled off a big gainer that should've gone to the house, but his HAS was still hobbling him. But he was still so effective even hurt. When healthy, it's absolutely horrible decision making not finding a way to get him on the field with ball in hand.

I'm fine with one guy being the primary back but as you mentioned, Josh was clearly winded and needed a break. Should have started rotating guys in and out earlier, at least in IMO. That one series where he was gasping for breath should have been a sign to the staff to substitute someone for a series at least.

The Heisman hype ended weeks ago. Focus on the goal, which should be winning the game with your most capable players on the field.
