Last year the problem was too much fundraising. Its always something, someone, anything but him.
December 31, 20177 yr Author Kelly is such an excuse-making whiny b*tch. Last year the problem was too much fundraising. Its always something, someone, anything but him. I mean, domerdomain members complain about the schedule too
December 31, 20177 yr I agree with this 100%. Tired of these brutal schedules. Agree, yes Kelly always has an excuse but these schedules set the team up for failure. They're beyond brutal
December 31, 20177 yr It makes complete sense to lighten the schedule if making the playoffs is the goal for this football program. Everyone knows Wisconsin played a very weak schedule and needed to beat one good team (OSU) and they would've gotten in. Strength of schedule is great talk during the season but in the end undefeated Power 5 schools will get in. Lighten your schedule ND and enter the playoff picture!
December 31, 20177 yr Good idea but it isn't the schedule already basically set outside of the actual dates for a few more years?
December 31, 20177 yr Kelly is such an excuse-making whiny b*tch. Last year the problem was too much fundraising. Its always something, someone, anything but him. Yeah it's ridiculous, I think it's more a case of Notre Dame needing to re evaluate their head coaching position.
December 31, 20177 yr What a crock of ****. We can all see Miami was a smoke and mirrors team. They are not good yet they bitch slapped us byt 33 points. That is coaching, not scheduling. Stanford was another coaching loss. This guy is such a cry baby. He should be long gone by the time this might be enforced.
December 31, 20177 yr Man, so many of you talk out of both sides of your mouths... people have been complaining about the schedule for decades... now that BK mentions it, he's a whiny b!tch...
December 31, 20177 yr It's about time. Navy should be our first game. Usc should be preceded by a bye or scrub. Lets get the clemsons and miami's to to come to south bend in november. We know miami can't play in the cold. That's what I'd like to see.
December 31, 20177 yr Lou and Ara never complained about the schedule....... More wisdom from ndmike. Let’s base our ideas for the future by comparing it with Ara Parsegian’s era.
December 31, 20177 yr Man, so many of you talk out of both sides of your mouths... people have been complaining about the schedule for decades... now that BK mentions it, he's a whiny b!tch... By mentioning wanting to make the schedule easier in a public forum, he has done ND a disservice. Now, the average Joe will more apt to say next year that a 11-1 ND probably didn't play a tough schedule even though the reality might be different. Kelly also probably meant that he would have played the same teams, just in a different order. Unfortunately, it comes across as wanting to play easier teams. For me, it would be OK to ensure that the schedule is laid out as advantageously as possible. Work with Jack to do that but don't mention it to anyone.
December 31, 20177 yr Lou and Ara never complained about the schedule....... they also coached in an era where ND was a school top recruits wanted to go to.
December 31, 20177 yr Start by following the navy game with a bye True, although in recent years, we’ve needed the bye before the navy game. How about we end the season with navy, rather than a trip to California.
December 31, 20177 yr I agree with this to an extent. Keep the schedule but be smarter about when you play these teams. Navy at the beginning of the year, USC after a bye, Ball St. after Navy, Michigan after Ball st. Etc etc. ND needs to mix in the MAC/Temples of the world before big games. Now I’m not saying I want ND to be playing 5 easy games ever year. I’m just saying be smarter about it with scheduling.
December 31, 20177 yr Some of you have the most revisionist history. Ara played 25 ranked teams in his 11 years at ND. Kelly has played 30 already during his 8 years. Some years Ara played 1 game that would have required a plane flight. ND played 4 this year alone. in 1966 ND played 5 teams with winning records and 5 with losing records. This year they played 11 with winning records and 2 with losing. Ara was miles better than Kelly, but to suggest ND has always been playing schedules like this year and next is crazy. December 31, 20177 yr Man, so many of you talk out of both sides of your mouths... people have been complaining about the schedule for decades... now that BK mentions it, he's a whiny b!tch... Bingo. People love to use this forum to just endlessly complain. ND's schedule next year is brutal: Michigan- top 10 team with Patterson, Top 20 w/o Ball St- Win Vandy- Win @Wake- very good Offensive Team Stanford- Top 10/15- emerging Stud QB @Vtech- unbelievably tough place to play vs Top 15 team Pitt- Win, but a much improved team Navy- obviously will be a tough game, always is @Nwestern- on the road vs borderline Top 25 team FSU- Top 10/15 team with Francois back at QB, emerging stud RB Syracuse- "neutral" game at Yankee Stadium vs a team that beat Clemson @USC- maybe a Top 5 team if Darnold returns. The only true "easy" games are week 2,3, and maybe 11. Every other week is a grind, where if they don't bring their "A" game, they lose. Now, it gives them the opportunity to rack up big wins, but as we know, just one loss puts them at a huge disadvantage w/ no Conference Championship game.
