We’re playing an SEC school on New Year’s Day....can’t get a lot better than that....hope they come to play....you have no idea how hard it is being an ND fan in the heart of SEC country...any time we can prove our worth in front of most of the country you have to get pumped

I posted something similar a couple weeks ago. If lsu focus on our run, we can't win. I'm ready to move on to next year. We're not that many weeks away from spring practice.

Fresh legs shouldn't be a problem. For some reason i feel this team is like me and put the season behind them.

In the past our teams underachieved and a bowl game was final chance to see the team play up to its potential. I feel like i know what our team is and I'm ready to see a new team. I'm ready to see if daniel cage and elijah taylor return. I want to see if gilman was just ineligible hype or not. Will dexter williams our best back get a shot even though jones jr looks more suited for what long wants to do. Will we have a qb controversy next season? BK has fumbled the ball every time he didn't have a clear cut.

 

Yeah, so I'm on to next year.

At least a win over one of the fabled SEC teams would be a positive but I'm not exactly excited over this game. A win gives the BK spin doctors more fuel for the fire and guarantees he's here probably for the rest of his contract unless he decides to retire.

 

Savvy Jack will say "We were thiiiiis close" and all will be well at ND. Unless there's an uprising but too many fans are too rah rah, go Irish for that to happen.

Talent behind him will be abound. I'd also say it's a big game for our receivers also considering what we'll have on campus next year.

Yeah exactly, we only get to see 13 games usually so you should enjoy them all or I don't know how you could be a fan. Like hell I was excited for the Hawaii bowl even.

The only good part about Kelly being exposed as a mediocre coach is that I can safely ignore the handful of Kelly nut-huggers that somehow bafflingly exist.

100% this. We get 13 games a year. I wait for the start of the season for 9 months and constantly check various sites for a hint of news regarding spring ball, offseason workouts, fall camp, etc. It’s a long 9 months without ND football.

 

Really excited about a chance to win 10 games, get a 4th win over a Top 25 team, and finish in the Top 10.

 

A win or loss realistically means little going into next season. But 10 wins after 4-8 and all the offseason changes has to get you excited for 2018.

I remembered how sad I am when cfb season is over so it will be great to watch this team one more time.

I’ve been a BK fan from the beginning and have held strong...until Miami.

 

Then Standford happened and I was shaken to my core.

 

I want to believe and will be fired up New Year’s Day but the Irish gotta show up and win.

I'm not excited for the game, I just know that I will miss it when it's over. It's complicated being an Irish fan because most of the time its like getting kicked in the balls and pretending it feels good.
