Mike McGlinchey is a Consensus All American after being named a First Team All American by the AP, Walter Camp, AFCA, FWAA, but a Second Team All American by Sporting News.

oh right...sorry, didn't see that note at the very bottom of the OP's post

I take it Unanimous and Consensus are different things? Don't we really only care about Consensus AA's?

we've had i think 101 consensus and 34 unanimous. Its just the word. Consensus means by the majority and Unanimous means by all.

Both honors are still amazing when you consider how many player have played at ND total.

Its something like Honor Roll and Distinguished Honor Roll for CFB

Nelson was f'ing robbed of the Lombardi though! No doubt he was the best lineman in all CFB this year. We are going to miss him big time next season. Congrats on the recognition though QN! Good luck in the pros.

Yes, he was. Can't figure out how a unanimous all-American could be passed over for that award.

Votes must have been due prior to the Miami game. The o-line, QN included, couldn't move anybody off the ball down the stretch.

That has a little more to do with the fact that you didn't have to respect our passing game than our linemen being inadequate. Once you start talking about higher end CFB and pro-level of play, you can't be one dimensional in the least.
