for all the misses and all that I have a up and down relationship with Recruiting here's my non-expert opinion. Consistency helps.

We benefited from FSU changing coaches and ours staying the same with this latest verbal.

Throughout the Kelly Era I can think of Fuller to name one and more if I thought harder of kids that changed schools aas a result of drama or coaching changes.

That's part of the reason its hard to make big head coaching changes when you have a good coach and a good class.

I know we want to chase great but its alot easier to give a good coach a chance to find some great players than it is to start from square 1. That's just reality.

As much as I hate to wait, lets hope good becomes great. Because really one of the things that separates Saban from the rest is getting great players to coach.

The tide is struggling a bit at QB so you'll see that their record won't be as good.

Its a player driven game and getting great players will make alot of coaches look great.

consistency is probably a big reason why ND is so good at recruiting the OL. now only if they could win consistently then ND would truly be tough to beat.

agreed. I know consistency isn't even up to our standards as ND fans.

But its the first step, whether I like it or not.

This defensive recruiting class is probably best since the one that drew me to domerdomain, Tuitt/Lynch.

We changed DC's and got one that didn't like to recruit. That set the program back I'd say 2 years(We got DB's and linebackers. but had to borrow Tillery to fill the DL gap.)

Im all for consistency to a point but after 8 years and being nothing more then an 8-4 program you have to make the choice

A) you're ok with having an 8-4 team

B) you make a change

agreed, BK wins just enough games to make you think he's about to turn things around but it never happens.

I don't have a choice, Swarbrick and Jenkins do. So while they have contract with Brian Kelly, I'm going to look for positives.

It is I agree, this is one of the better defensive classes we've seen in a while. And I hope they are able to come in and get us off the 4 loss train.

The defense does look nice.

Faith,

Do you think D Hayes may be more effective at linebacker? We have some spots to fill there. I thought khalid kareem was playing better by years end so anyway to get him more snaps would seem beneficial.

I think its worth looking at. Replacing Morgan will be a need this offseason. So were you thinking buck(morgan) will(coney) Rover(tranquill)?

If Coney stays he either becomes the buck or stays at will

Tranquill is staying he either stays at Rover or moves into Buck.

Another player is Bilal. Buck is one of the most important positions can't see a player go from sub to starter there.

Do we lose anything by moving Daelin to buck? Maybe pass rush. Kareem is more of a DT(Tuitt) than an End (Ishaq- sorry getting dated)

Its happened before Jaylon from Outside in.

Stay tuned, good idea davis.

So lets say we do that. I need to look at his measurables to see if they are in the ballpark of others, my gut is they are. listed at 6-3 258. Extremely plausible option davis

Get Bilal on the field more, either buck or will imo.

Reasonable but my concern is that would require Bilal to go from 16(tackles this year) to 83 tackles

Hayes would go from 28- still a large jump but a little less.

I hope Coney returns 99 tackles is alot to replace in addition to the 83.

83 tackles (morgan) also aligns the defense.

here's the tackle list if interested. http://www.cfbstats.com/2017/team/513/tackle/index.html

Tranquill to buck would be possible by that measure and then Bilal/Owusu-karamoa at rover.

Almost to many Variables yet.
