Any better or worse? I'm a bit torn as Wimbush made this team tick with his legs for 70% of the season then imploded like nothing I've ever seen before

Kizer's NFL career looks dead before it even started. That kid cannot stop turning the ball over. He should have stayed.

I'm torn. Late turnovers hurt ND. Kizer can turn it over. Passing would of improved rushing would have decreased.

your gonna make me do math.

Wisbush was:

2584 total yards 30 total TD 6 INT

Kizer was about 3400 total yards 34 TD 9 Int

My conclusion is Kizer woulld have been better maybe winning the UGA game and going 11-1. Think Miami may of been closer but still ended up a loss. Same token I think he reads coverage better and beats stanford as well.

Considering he won 4 games last year I don't assume it would have been better. Kizer is good for atleast one turnover a game, Likely multiple in a few probably leading to 7-8 wins. We wouldn't have had success running either cause it would have Been pass happy Kelly all over again.

If the Browns didn't take him in the second who knows when he gets drafted. One of the least accurate passers I've seen get so much hype, probably cause of his size.

They would have been the same.

Playoffs...kizer was a better passer and a smarter player.

He would have regressed even more.

He would have regressed even more.

Huh? how??

Huh? how??

Uhm well Brian Kelly hired Tommy Rees to coach the QBs and I think he's playing on the notion that every QB except Tommy Rees seem to have regressed under BK. He made Dayne Crist a choir boy, confused the shite out of EG, and thought Zaire was a starting QB so that cost us the Texas game, and Kizer looked so much better when he stepped in for MZ his first year then he did his second year..

Kizer should be investigated by the Feds for that last INT he threw.

Jimmy Clausen 2.0 would be a good achievement for the him. Clausen made a lot of money and didn't take too many hits over his NFL career. Back up QB is the best job in the league.

Haters gonna hate but on its own merits, too many variables and contributing factors to know how the arrow would've pointed. Wimbush isn't the thrower Kizer is but Kizer, while mobile, isn't the runner that Wimbush is.

Had a chance via a mutual friend to join a chat with Ronnie Stanley recently and he was very surprised how Wimbush didn't translate from practice to games. Had nothing but positives to say about him: smart, athletic, has the "it factor" yet at a loss to explain his poor play. I know some will be disappointed to learn but didn't have any negatives to contribute about coaching - Kelly or Rees and doesn't know Long but hear's good things about him. He expects Wimbush to figure it out and be much improved come next year. Did not ask about Kizer as I was an eavesdropper to the conversation.

What would happen if we had two first team All American offensive linemen playing side by side. Oh, wait.....

What if #7 stayed last year, how many games would we have won? Probably a huge turn around. I think we need a super receiver and a couple super backs along with the defense we had this year.

We really missed Will last year and have no one even close to his speed and hunger. I think having him on the lineup naturally gets everyone jacked and ready to play hard when they know each snap could be the next big play.

I don't think it would have made much of a difference. Kizer was good but not great and had his share of WTF moments. He usually threw a better deep ball and didn't get that deer in the headlights look as often as Wimbush. I still think it comes down to play calling but that's just my opinion. I still think BK has his hand in that but that's conjecture on my part.

Kizer does seem to be coming around in the NFL but it's rough being a rookie starter on an incompetent team that has been playing musical QBs for so long.

Agree with your take on this 100 percent.

If you don't invest in an offensive line it really doesn't matter who is back there. Look at Tom Brady last night, consistently pressured, throwing picks making bad decisions. Happens to anyone.

Kizer no doubt.
