December 9, 20177 yr I think coney and Terry jillery leave Need safeties to step up Maybe, maybe not. They both seem to have really embraced ND and have enjoyed their time there. If it's an NFL/money issue it may come down to draft projections and whether or not they really need or want the money for their families. Even a later round pick, say the third or fourth will get a pretty decent pay day. There are so many factors that play into decisions like this and it's pretty much impossible to know what they're thinking and what their motivations are.

I'm sure if they received draft grades, they took out an insurance policy for their senior year. With an ND degree and a $1million insurance payout(assuming they get injured), I'm sure these smart kiddos can figure out life. I think having these guys come back for a 5th year would really say something about the way this program was headed. We've had a lot of front line guys prioritize the NFL opportunity rightfully so. So far just tranquil? No word on Coney or Tillery?

Part of that is because Drew has been so good, glad he'll be back. Can't blame Coney if he leaves though, guy had a great season.
December 9, 20177 yr What stinks is Bonner isn't coming back Surprised he's not coming back. I guess he's moving on from football. He played well this season. At least MTA and Hinish got some experience this year. MTA is a player. It will be interesting to see how Ewell develops in the offseason and if Jayson Ademilola can come in and play right away. It seems like ND has decent depth on the DL for the first time in a while.

Hope to return 10 starters on defense Yeah, LBs can be found anywhere in the draft depending on the defensive scheme of the team scouting/drafting them and Tillery is a middle of the road prospect despite a decent year. They should enjoy college while they have the chance before they get smacked in the face by reality/life. Returning ten starters would be nice because continuity and familiarity with each other as players doesn't hurt.
