Posted November 27, 20177 yr I'm trying to buy tix now since either way the bowl will be in my backyard. Any thoughts? Also, can you return bowl tix if you change your mind, i.e. can I hedge my bets and buy tix to both and then return the tix for the bowl we aren't in?
November 27, 20177 yr I’ve been looking for a good reason to go to nashville lately. Even considered buying blackhawks tix. Living in remote moutains of southern colorado, one must travel far to any venue...
November 27, 20177 yr I don't think either of these games are going to be a big enough draw to require you to buy tickets early..
November 27, 20177 yr Now I know we don't deserve it but what if TCU, USC, UCF and Ohio State all lose this weekend? We could likely be sitting around #12 and I know the 4 major bowls would die to get ND. Who knows maybe a ton of guys are playing with injuries and a months rest will do us good? The only way to make anything of this season and shake off our big game perception is winning one. If the MSU and USC teams show up I think we can win one.
November 27, 20177 yr Author I don't think either of these games are going to be a big enough draw to require you to buy tickets early.. Cool...that's where I'm leaning...especially if we play Iowa State. I don't see them traveling.
December 1, 20177 yr Does anybody know how we end up in the Citrus Bowl? A matchup between #15 ND and #17 LSU on New Years Day would be pretty sweet. A win over LSU to get to 10 wins would mean so much more than beating Iowa State. I am pretty sure ND getting into the Citrus Bowl depends on how the Big Ten does regarding the CFP and NY6 games, but not totally sure.

I'd rather play ISU, LSUs defense would stuff the ND offense dead in its tracks.
December 1, 20177 yr I'd rather play ISU, LSUs defense would stuff the ND offense dead in its tracks. But a win over 7-5 Iowa State does nothing for the program moving forward. It's a lose lose situation. The only good we'd get out of it is we may get a look at our next coach haha
December 1, 20177 yr But a win over 7-5 Iowa State does nothing for the program moving forward. It's a lose lose situation. The only good we'd get out of it is we may get a look at our next coach haha true, but I'd rather be 10-3 than 9-4 and going 1-3 in our last 4 games.
December 1, 20177 yr true, but I'd rather be 10-3 than 9-4 and going 1-3 in our last 4 games. I agree with that, but a win over LSU would be much bigger for the program. It would be the harder game by far, but with 4-5 weeks to get healthy, ND is definitely capable of winning. While it would be easier to beat ISU to go 10-3, it would feel like 2015 where ND had the record but no good wins. A 2017 season with wins over Michigan State (by 20), USC (by 35), NC State (by 21), and LSU in a New Years Day Bowl would be a really successful season, IMO.
December 1, 20177 yr Do any of the seniors sit out the bowl game due to injury concerns? Question is kind of focused on McG and Nelson
December 1, 20177 yr Good point. ANYONE with draft ambitions this spring should sit out. But that is true for LSU too.
December 1, 20177 yr Do any of the seniors sit out the bowl game due to injury concerns? Question is kind of focused on McG and Nelson Those two are probably the least likely to sit out a bowl game. I thought maybe Josh Adams, but I think he fits into the same category as Nelson and McGlinchey. All captains who love playing for ND and representing the university.
December 1, 20177 yr Does anybody know how we end up in the Citrus Bowl? Just saw this today: Citrus Bowl officials met on Wednesday night in Orlando to vote on their preference and LSU was an overwhelming favorite to represent the SEC over Mississippi State and South Carolina, the source said. Michigan State was the choice as the Big Ten rep, with Notre Dame a distant second choice.

People want notre dame to play the toughest schedule then throw a fit when they lose.

December 2, 20177 yr Won't matter, we're going to jump up to 12 and end up in the Cotton bowl. I prefer the Cotton. We have got to get this monkey off our back. I saw on two different NFL message boards over the last few weeks in discussing our draft prospects that said basically 'good gawd, what happened to that program? They haven't won a big bowl game in over 20 years'. Good couple of decades to be an Irish fan.

This streak needs to end and is the only way to make anything good comes of this season.
December 2, 20177 yr Won't matter, we're going to jump up to 12 and end up in the Cotton bowl. Would love it, but I don't think we have a chance to get to 12. I am assuming we would need Stanford, TCU, and UCF to all lose. But I don't think 9-3 ND jumps 9-4 Stanford based on the head-to-head. I don't see any other teams ND could jump.
