I'm trying to buy tix now since either way the bowl will be in my backyard. Any thoughts? Also, can you return bowl tix if you change your mind, i.e. can I hedge my bets and buy tix to both and then return the tix for the bowl we aren't in?

I’ve been looking for a good reason to go to nashville lately. Even considered buying blackhawks tix. Living in remote moutains of southern colorado, one must travel far to any venue...

I don't think either of these games are going to be a big enough draw to require you to buy tickets early..

Now I know we don't deserve it but what if TCU, USC, UCF and Ohio State all lose this weekend? We could likely be sitting around #12 and I know the 4 major bowls would die to get ND.

 

Who knows maybe a ton of guys are playing with injuries and a months rest will do us good? The only way to make anything of this season and shake off our big game perception is winning one. If the MSU and USC teams show up I think we can win one.

Does anybody know how we end up in the Citrus Bowl? A matchup between #15 ND and #17 LSU on New Years Day would be pretty sweet. A win over LSU to get to 10 wins would mean so much more than beating Iowa State.

But a win over 7-5 Iowa State does nothing for the program moving forward. It's a lose lose situation. The only good we'd get out of it is we may get a look at our next coach haha

I agree with that, but a win over LSU would be much bigger for the program. It would be the harder game by far, but with 4-5 weeks to get healthy, ND is definitely capable of winning.

 

While it would be easier to beat ISU to go 10-3, it would feel like 2015 where ND had the record but no good wins.

 

A 2017 season with wins over Michigan State (by 20), USC (by 35), NC State (by 21), and LSU in a New Years Day Bowl would be a really successful season, IMO.

Good point. ANYONE with draft ambitions this spring should sit out. But that is true for LSU too.

Citrus Bowl officials met on Wednesday night in Orlando to vote on their preference and LSU was an overwhelming favorite to represent the SEC over Mississippi State and South Carolina, the source said. Michigan State was the choice as the Big Ten rep, with Notre Dame a distant second choice.

Those two are probably the least likely to sit out a bowl game.

Yeah, beating a nobody is no different than losing in a big bowl. This streak needs to end and is the only way to make anything good comes of this season.

I am assuming we would need Stanford, TCU, and UCF to all lose. But I don't think 9-3 ND jumps 9-4 Stanford based on the head-to-head.

 

I don't see any other teams ND could jump.
