Let's say Kelly is ousted. He WILL get hired elsewhere. He goes to University of Somewhere Else and STARTS WINNING A LOT. What's the consensus of the fan base here then? Me personally, that scenario is pretty realistic. There's a weird culture issue at ND. Starts with the geriatric fan base clamoring for the days of old, but not willing to concede that times have changed. I do, however, think the culture is changing. Sometimes I wonder if it's too little, too late for CBK. Maybe if he got hired TODAY it would be a better fit.

I share the same sentiment with you and I felt like after last year he was simply waiting for a season that could catapult him to a horizontal HC position at a place like Tennessee.

He can get SEC athletes at that school and do well enough to compete with UGA in the east.

I think this school has a stigma that it must shake before we can be successful. I'm happy that they are investing millions into the football program but it was a slow process.

I don't see how he can be re-invigorated and ready to return in 2018 for another season here. I don't think he is a bad coach, and I don't think ND is a bad job anymore like it was in the early 2000s... However it's time for both sides to start fresh.

Kelly wouldn't win anywhere consistently outside of the mac or maybe a lower level power 5 school with very little expectations, somewhere 7/8 wins is good enough.

Tennessee? Have you read the horrible things their fans do to their coaches and families? Geez, they need 24-hour security guards just to get in and out of their homes. Kelly would never, ever go there.

P.S. All you guys even saying "if" he is fired is another pipe dream.

Not that he is fired, but you don't think he puts his head down on his pillow at night wondering if there was another power 5 team he could coach that he could extract better results from you're ****ing crazy.

This program is **** from the top down. From requiring the players actually go to class let alone carry a 2.7 GPA. What kinda bullshit is that in the current landscape of college football. We are a school of 8000+ and we lower the bar significantly for 85 athletes to play football why not all the way(to the bare miniumum) like the rest of the landscape. We let 2.7 kids in and have more girls raped by football players and just as many drug incidents as everyone else. I'd love a poll of our football players to see how many really give a flying F about a Notre Dame degree.. Doesn't hold water. ND degree isn't even first in the state in it's respective fields: Business - IU; Science - PU; Law - IU, Health - IU. This school is nothing more than a Butler ****ing Bulldog that got lucky with Knute Rockne in the early 1900s and decided to stash away it's ****ing income from football into an endowment fund to sustain it's bullshit academic prowess for decades to come. I hope this school is bankrupt and dying before my kids graduate so I can convince his / her punk *** to go to Michigan on my ****ing dollar.

As a momma's boy poor catholic growing up in the Midwest this team is a ****ing joke to root for.. stands for nothing I align with anymore. These kids receive more $$ from their parents in tuition than I have in my checking account..

I've been on the verge of jumping off this ship since 2015. ****. ****.

Should've clarified originally: I DO NOT THINK COACH BRIAN KELLY IS GETTING FIRED THIS YEAR. That should clear it up. I was simply having fun with the idea that if he gets let go, he WILL go somewhere, and I think he WILL be fairly successful there. Wondered what other folks thought.

With all due respect to the problem of institutional issues, which didn’t get in the way this season and we still couldn’t compete in November, but the best season an ex Notre Dame coach has had in the last 20 years was Lou holtz at 9-3 at South Carolina and bob Davie at 9-4 last year at New Mexico.

Matter of fact, 3 if the previous 4 coaches here put up a 0 or 1 win season.

Exactly, make a better hire. Don't tell me Kelly is the best we can do, because if you're telling me that then what youre saying is that this program can't be better then 68-34 over 8 years which is an 8-4 team year in and year out. Stanford has won a lot more then that over the same span so don't give me the academic bs. This team should and can be better

DING MOTHER****ING DING.

THE FINAL WHISTLE LASTNIGHT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE GAVEL DROPPED THAT DECIDED KELLY IS DONE. I don't give a **** about his potential as HC anymore. You're telling me we have a losing record against Stanford in Kelly's 8 years.

This is a team, a staff, a program, a university that is full.of pussies. That's all there is to it. And everyone in cfb knows it. Herbstreit last night was struggling to explain what was wrong and I damn near thought he was going to say I don't know what the fvck is wrong with this program, its lost, soft, disinterested and a train wreck.

Look at the players on the field. They don't even look like they want to be playing football. And our staff just sits there with dumbass looks on their faces when the refs are screwing us. They don't even bother to fight for their players.

They can't make a better hire because they are not serious. None of the best coaches want to come when they tell you that you will have to have one hand ties behind your back.

Sh!t or get off the pot. Can't stand fans like you. Love it, warts and all, or don't. What's keeping you here if not hope?

I don't question anyone's loyalty unless they are just a troll to this forum. Domers come from all shapes and sizes. We've jumped on the bandwagon for a variety of reasons and at different times in our lives, so I don't expect you to see things the way I see them.

To answer your question: I'm not a quitter. I've stuck by these boys through thick and most often thin.. I watch every snap of every game no matter how paintful. I know for a fact you've missed more games than I have since '02(which includes zero). probably missed 3-4 since 1990.. Who's the band-wagoner? I'm allowed to run through a half bottle of whiskey and question my soul's deepest conondrums. I've formulated a top 3 in case I do jump ship and it includes Purdue Georgia(see yal there in '19) and Indiana(at least two of those schools have legit reasons for sucking at football). I'll send you a PM if I decide to make the jump. Maybe someone on here can give me a bandwagon certificate to give to the other fan base so they'll accept my transfer..

They were serious enough to hire Kelly who was coming off a national coach of the year campaign. In the real world top power 5 coaches don't make lateral moves, name me 1 time it has happened ever. Just because nd didn't hire stoops or meyer doesn't mean they don't care. It's not that easy to hire high quality coaches. Look at the mess at Tennessee right now

'02??? Lol... dude, I've been watching games since 1987 and the only games I have missed were an Air Force game that was on some obscure network and a couple others that weren't broadcast in Canada and I was able to get off TYT within a couple hours. Hell, I planned a damned wedding so that I missed no games.

Damn.. calm down relax. Everyone is pissed. I lost my **** last night and I’m still pissed that BK is coaching this team today. Nothing we can do about that. Some fans have been waiting 70 years for a championship. UCLA, Texas A M, among others. We’ve been spoiled. What goes up must come down and vice versa....

My bad ya’ll.... I was just trying to start an interesting topic. Didn’t mean to start a loyalty witch hunt.

My bad ya’ll.... I was just trying to start an interesting topic. Didn’t mean to start a loyalty witch hunt.

Loyalty is EARNED. Anything else is blind loyalty. You don't get my loyalty if you're not serious about winning and not really trying....on the contrary, making it as hard as possible to win a championship and then patting yourself on the back for having 8-4 teams who do it the right way

You don't get my loyalty when the coaching staff is subpar compared to other teams. When Miami defensive coaches are laughing while they are predicting our offensive plays and the Stanford QB is calling out our blitzes.

And you sure as hell don't earn my loyalty by having players who wilt under adversity, show no passion for the game, refuse to lay out on offense or defense and act like they don't even want to be there. Soft as charmin.

Fvck that. I'll watch Auburn and Ohio State.

Lots of emotion.

JT- we've had alot of good game day chats. You're all IRISH

Rocket- I respect you too. What a talented caring guy. You're all IRISH
