Anyone know what is going on there? Guy looks electric every time he touches the ball his one or two carries a game. I’m all for having a feature back, but maybe Adams wouldn’t be so banged up if they gave 10 carries a game to Williams. If it’s a pass protection deal then ok, don’t use him on pass plays.

I bring this up all the time...It's infuriating to me how stubborn BK has shown he can be with player personnel. He keeps saying Dexter is totally healthy and ready to go, yet refuses to play him. Adams sucked last night...Dex gets that 13 yard carry, and then never touches the ball again.

Does he know the plays? He looked mixed up on his second carry unless that was designed.

For sure. I’m really big on mcintosh too. Yet, bk keeps smashing a sliw clock tower into the line, standing tall. Josh, hurt or not, simply lost his mechanics in hitting the holes/line

Nope. People here will blame kelly if they over sleep.

 

My guess is long like to run between the tackles. That's why jones who looks like the 4th best rb gets the call over williams as well.

BK is the head coach. I'm pretty sure he has say in who is playing and who's not. Now, I'm sure they have meetings with Denson, and Long, but I'm also pretty sure the head coach would have final say.

Of course he could over rule but he hires coaches to make those calls.one of the issues with bvg was that he didn't sub enough. Kelly didn't over rule him.

Ya, I get that...and agree that player personnel should be a commitee decision with coaches. But things can change during a game. If Long doesn't see that Adams isn't working out against Stanford, it is totally on BK to go to him and say, "Let's get a fresh look with Dex this series and see how it goes."

I genuinely believe if they go 3 deep consistently in the RB rotation this team is way better. It's hard to buy the "Josh is 100%" line when its CLEAR he's lost a step as the season has worn on. The head coach CAN make broad decisions like, tell the OC and position coach, "We need to run all 3 guys downhill today. Try and distribute the carries. It'll help wear the other team down." It's a bit of a mismanagement on the coaching staff IMO. Caveat: we don't access to any behind the scene action, so we can't say for sure if there's a glaring weakness they're hiding.

Really, hope Dex leaves because he deserves better.

Dex riding the bench does wonders for our Florida recruiting program. Come to ND where you'll likely be the best player on the depth chart but you'll be limited in your touches because the coaching staff likes to play favorites...

Look at Bryce love.. Dude was banged up and they have the biggest game of their season coming up on a short week and he still gave everything he had against us last night.. He played because of pride. We don't have many guys on our roster that we can say the same about.

But instead of going with dex, they often went with tony jones jr which was my initial point that long like the guys who run up the middle.

 

Maybe bk says take adams out but leaves it up to the coach to decide who to put in.

I know a lot of people didn't agree with that move, but I totally agreed with it. Theo had good initial burst, great wiggle, great pad level, and ran with pure fire/intensity. Throw that in with his good hands, and pass blocking, and he totally deserved to be in there..Now Cierre deserved carries too, as he had that breakaway ability but Theo was damnnabbin good......

Kelly is not creative. He finds something that works and he sticks with it until it is broken. He was supposed to be a masterful QB whisperer because he succeeded at Cincy. He wasn’t. He rose one QB until he was broken and then threw another one in like cannon fodder. Kelly does not know how to coach st this level. He is accustomed to having a roster with one or two bright spots, not a closet full of weapons. That failing plus his inability to relate and lead his players is why he is a mid major level coach on his best day.

Theo turned out to be an effective back, but if Wood doesn't get busted with weed, we don't see even a 50/50 split in plays.. I didn't mean to dog on Theo just brought up Kelly's' stubbornness to play players when they're in his dog house.
